This class is far from over but if we can land nearly half of the targets on our board, particularly the positions of need, is this the best class since the Butch days? I can’t think of another class like this. Scary part is 2019 may be better.

That class with all the Northwestern kids was pretty hyped and highly-rated (07 or 08)

08 and 12 were up there but didn't pan out due to lack of player development. I think Richt could of won a couple ACC titles with those classes

I do think 17-20 are going to be the best 4 consecutive classes we have had since then which Shannon and Golden never put consistent good classes together

Too soon and if you jinxed us, you're getting that crispy BAND.

This class is pretty epic. I’ll tell you right now, the biggest program changer will be Lingard. The guy is a threat to go all the way every time he touches the ball. He will change how opposing defenses play against us. We haven’t had that home run threat in a long time. I’d bet he’s starting in no time. I can’t wait.

The biggest program charger will be at QB gottdammit!!! Dallas is just as or almost as explosive as Lingard. We need a change at QB TC.

Dallas is amazing, but he is no Lingard. You’ll see

Either way the most important piece on offense(game changer) is going to be from the QB position hands down. Ok let’s say Lingard is better cool, great but regardless of who runs the ball, without a game changing QB (whether it’s Nkosi,Williams or Weldon) we won’t be able to compete vs elite teams.

Yep. Not even close.

And IMO way over rated! This class is much better than that one.

I guess, but you have the benefit of hindsight and seeing how that class did already. I was in college when they got that class and I remember the hype thinking that was gonna be the class to get Miami back to where it needed to be.

That class had 33 kids in, quite a few of them were borderline (Shannon specials) but it was overlooked because it was top heavy. Really the only two misses were PP/PJ and Luigut.

If we close the way we think it will be the best class since the butch days, this class destroys anything Randy Golden did and its not even close.

Dallas may not have the long speed that Lingard has, but he has an incredible burst. He covers 10-15 yard as fast as about anyone I can think of.

Anyway I agree with the others that the most important addition will be the starting QB.

On paper, yes. It looks to be the best we've seen in some time from top to bottom.

if we close with who we think we will, I think it's maybe the best class at Miami ever (on paper).

You are talking about ELITE program changing type talents at QB, RB, TE, WR, DT, CB, and S

You have to add the 16 class into the conversation.

The 16 class was pretty good to us. With AR, Joe Jackson, Bethal, Young, Homer and the 3 LB as major contributors. Granted Young is done but a little over half that class was a major reason for these past 2 season.

The downside to that class is this. 7 players are no longer part of the team. That is including Young.

I think the best part about this class is the bottom. We don't really have any reaches at any position. You can't say that about a Miami recruiting class in the last 15 years. Also, RB is about as important as TE at da U. Even in our worst years, we still got NFL caliber players at that position.

If we want to win big time, then we need QB, DT, and OL recruiting to improve on a consistent basis.

Agree with AG and RS the classes were 3 or 5 hopeful studs with the rest being reaches and if the top didnt become studs we were fuqed and thats what pretty much happened.
