Best Player at each position while at the U

Dan Morgan? over lets see.....Ray Lewis, Michael Barrow, Jessie Armstead, Jonathan Vilma? Dorsey over Vinnie? watch youtube of 1986 Oklahoma-Miami Game

Morgan never gets love on the boards. Dude was the first player ever to win the butkus, bednarik and nagurski awards the same year. Anyone that has Vilma over Morgan needs to be put down.

i had a hard time with lewis and morgan, could be either and i might pick morgan tomorrow, but vilma? i dont get it.

I feel sorry for these young whippersnappers who never saw Bennie Blades play live

Absolutely. Nobody was more active and tackled better from the safety position than Blades. Blades, Reed, Taylor....I'm not sure anybody could offer a better trio, except maybe USC. The most underrated safety and almost never discussed was Darryl Williams. That dude could play.

One game don't make a career and if you got a problem with someone else's team I have a solution...make your own.

I always bring up BB in these discussions. He was arguably the best athlete out of all of them and really, was ahead of his time. He was your classic center field FS - 6-2, 215lb guy who can run a 4.4. At one point, he had a qualifying time to go to the Olympic trials in the 400M hurdles as a high schooler!

Daryl was also a fantastic athlete. 4 first round draft picks right there at safety.

If i'm building a team of leaders and winners from scratch, Bennie Blades is going to be at the top of the list. He would not tolerate non-hackers

Morgan was probably the most productive at Miami. Vilma is close. Lewis was solid here and then became a monster in the pros. Vinnie lost us a NC (did he throw the game on purpose? It sure seemed like that when you go and watch the tape...5 picks against a garbage Sandusky-Joe Pa team in a game where we outgained them something like 450-165). Barrow and Armstead were both very good here.

Miami's legacy at the s position is unmatched by any other school in cfb except USC.

Miami's dt legacy reign supreme over any other school by a wide margin.

QB - Dorsey
RB - McGahee
TE - Shockey
WR - Irvin
OL - Mckinnie/Searcy
DL - Sapp/Stubbs
LB - Dan Morgan
CB - Ryan Mcneil
S - Taylor

Good list but 1. add Duke and cross out McGahee.

Rotflmfao at Duke over mcgahee
McGahee backed up Portis one season and started one season
1687 yards 27 TDs in one year
Duke started three years. 26 TDs. Total.
Methinks if McGahee was on roster w Dallas Crawford and Eduardo Clements he might've played more than one season

/strike Irvin and add Hurns hahahahaha (Hurns is the goods but come on mane)

The legend of Duke Johnson. Love the guy but I gotta laugh when people post **** like that. Duke was a stud. McGahee was transcendent.

QB: Jim Kelly
RB: Edjerrin James

Basing this all on their time here. Anyone who doesn't put Kelly is insane. He played on not so talented teams not like some of the others listed. And I love Duke man, but he is not my #1 for RB when players were at the U. Edge was in same boat as Duke was, he didn't have the best teams either. Edge gets my vote.

Was very close for me between Reed, Blades and Taylor at safety.

I picked Feagles at punter but if Odonnell was here for a few more years he would have been my pick.

I loved Bosher but Huerta is hands down #1 kicker.

Searcy was a bad ****. Loved Bryant McKinnie, but I gotta go with Searcy.

The playmaker is always #1. He was The Playmaker for a reason, theirs some that could challenge but when I think WR at The U. Irvin always first one that I think of.

And I love all the linebackers that came through man. But Dan Morgan was definition of a BEAST during his time here.

Challenge me.

OL- McKinnie
DL- Sapp
LB- Ray Lewis
DB- Rolle
S- Reed
K- Huerta
P- Bosher

Who ya got?

Tough question because you have single season, total career, and other impact, but I'll try:

QB - Kelly, but I loved Kosar (total impact) and Walsh
RB - McGahee for one season, I think it has to be Duke for career.
WR - Irvin for total impact (player and grad).
TE - Shockey
OL - McKinne or Searcy at T, Bibla at G, multiple options at C
DL - Sapp at DT, Hendriks at DE
LB - that is REALLY tough. Barrow.
CB - McNeil (sp.)
S - see LB, Reed closely followed by Bennie Blades, then Taylor
K- Huerta
P - Bosher

Please stop bad mouthing Duke. It's not his fault his time at UM was wasted with terrible coaching and terrible teams around him. I love McGahee and Portis but who they had coaching them and the players they had around him were FAR MORE superior then what Duke had to go through.

I would put Sievers ahead of Bosher. Sievers is probably the most talented kicker we've ever had here. Great leg, and his kickoffs were unmatched (directional, deep, hang time, etc.).
