Who is our best pitcher and why?
Griffin Hugus, absolute stud that has big league level stuff.Who is our best pitcher and why?
This and get Colera some work and his speed back and we might have a solid young staff brewing. And if @ErickMarreroU is right about most, if not all incoming pitchers should make it to campus.Hugus....let's sit back and enjoy the development of Ciscar and DeRias. I sat behind home yesterday and Ciscar was unbelievable. DeRias is so raw, he is just learning how to pitch. Lots of natural ability out there....reminds me of McFarlane from a few years back.
Hugus is not coming back next year. He will go in rounds 2-3.Hugus is a junior. If he comes back next year with Ciscar, DeRias and Walters. We will be dangerous.
Fernandez and Collera should also make a jump coming off their Freshmen years. Robert should be back off injury too
I see more of a 5-10 round guy fastball plays up but tops out at 94 breaking ball loses shape too oftenHugus is not coming back next year. He will go in rounds 2-3.
Robert will probably be out until mid-season next year.
He's already been in talks for first 3 round potential, and that's because of the setup/relief possibility. As someone else mentioned in this thread he has 97-98 in the tank alreadyI see more of a 5-10 round guy fastball plays up but tops out at 94 breaking ball loses shape too often
Agree. The first few innings Wednesday will be very importmant towards seeing if this turnaround is sustainable.I think Hugus ends up in a set up role at the next level. It will allow him to use the little extra he has and become even more of a strike out guy in high leverage situations.
Maybe even put into a closers role as he continues to learn and depending how much more he has velo wise. I think he has 97-98 in him.
I'm not getting any emotions on next year until this year finishes. We are riding high off a great weekend. But I'm ready for the typical Miami let down where we now lose mid week then 2-3 to BC.
We will probably be ranked by some today...if not very very close. How will they handle that too.
Yup, the difference when we score first is incredibleAgree. The first few innings Wednesday will be very importmant towards seeing if this turnaround is sustainable.
