Best HS football teams in Dade history

With the high school football season upon us I got in a heated debate with my uncle earlier today. The debate was over who is the best team in Dade history. Of course I went with the 2007 Northwestern Bulls. He made his claims for 1993 Southridge.

Who do you guys think the best is? Maybe a top 5 list?

If we was strictly looking at the defensive side of the ball 2003 Carol City could make a claim but as an entire team to me it’s without a doubt 07 Northwestern with 93 Southridge coming in behind them.

A lot of people do consider 06 Northwestern to actually be better than 07 due to Antwain Easterling being a part of the team. I can’t really argue that either. But 07 does have the mythical national title.

To be fair that 93 Southridge team was nasty but I don’t think they compare to that 06/07 Miami Northwestern.

This is the same old head that would say 80s NBA is better than modern players… lmao

The more I think about it now 06 probably does have the edge over 07. 07 just had the claim to that title and the win over Southlake Carrol TX on national television.

Easterling rushed for 2,831 yards and 33 TDs in 06 which is completely insane to think about playing in high classification Dade County. Plus they had Roland Smith as the HC!

He was a 5* prospect prior to that off the field *** scandal fiasco. I remember watching him absolutely shred Miami Central. ESPN still had him as 23rd overall in the nation even after that. All the other sites dropped him out of their top 20/top 50. He’s one of the best RBs in Dade history without a doubt. I think he was Miami bound before all that s*** happened…

Either way Northwestern went 30-0 through both the 06/07 seasons. Here’s an interesting article…

 
All the old MNW stars say 06 was better due to Easterling and more hungry. Said they kind of coasted in 07 just knowing they were the best

I always said same thing, offense was more balanced and dominant in games, I dont think they were challenged, I saw the last game in OB (I refuse to say last game was that UVA BULL****) where Denard and Deerfield push them boys to the BRINK, they could have iced that game and gave 07 NW NO CHANCE IN ****.. But they got the stop at 1 Yard line and Jacory drove them 99 yards for the W. 06 never had those issues, lol.. Easterling was insane..

I dont even think they had their OC in 07 and the offense wasnt as smooth, they just had more players transfer in
 
MNW for those years can make a claim as not just the best team in Dade or Florida history but also national history. The only other team from history I’ve read about that produced as many D1 players was the famous 1988 Dallas Carter team featured in Friday Night Lights and the 30 for 30. They had similar numbers as far as D1/NFL guys. PS I don’t count schools like IMG who just pluck kids from all over the country, I’m talking homegrown kids from their hoods. All these MNW kids grew up in Liberty City, Overtown etc…

I still say MNW takes the cake as the best I’ve ever watched personally or read about/seen film on.

2000 Gulliver Raiders should get at least an honorable mention.
