Best home crowds (post glory days)

ND 2017 was the loudest I've ever heard that stadium.

VT last year was actually pretty fun too. Wild last few minutes.

@Strobe I remember that UF game. Wasn't it a noon start? It was humid and hot as ****. I think the weather zapped energy from the fans. I remember it being very sticky and muggy.

UF 2013 (opening game, noon, white-out) was pretty impressive as well. The gator thought they would outnumber us, but the Canes showed out in force and made the atmosphere pretty intense. Also, hot as ****.
didn't the tail gating start at the sunrise or some ****, recall everyone being **** faced by the end of the 1st quarter

I think you have to look back at the glory days to have a good baseline for what the ceiling is. When I think about FSU in 2000, Washington in 2001, or Florida in 2003, the Notre Dame game in 2017 was identical to those atmospheres. Honestly, you could convince me that Washington in 2001 and Notre Dame in 2017 were the craziest environments I've ever been in for a Hurricane game. Fans just out for blood. I'm really hoping we bring the same energy in two weeks. When Miami is at the top chasing a national championship and there's a top 10 matchup at home you cannot convince me there's a crazier atmosphere in college football. And here's my hot take as to why:

Texas A&M fans go to cheer practice every Friday, no matter the opponent. The likes of Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, they sell out their games every Saturday. They fill the stadium with the same people every week, which is awesome. But. Miami's biggest knock, low attendance, can also become it's biggest strength every now and then. In the words of Nigel from Spinal Tap, "Most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up. Where can you go from there?" Miami can go to 11 and it feels very different for everyone involved when it does.

Va Tech 2017 was packed and set the stage for an even crazier Notre Dame crowd
Yeah that one was fun as ****. I can’t remember if it was that one or another where it started raining in the 2nd right as we came back and the stadium went feral.

Aside from the obvious, as a sleeper pick for a non-marquee game, I thought UVA 2017 was a very very good crowd considering the opponent. Stadium was almost full. Close game midway thru the 3rd but when Jaquan Johnson took a pick 6, place erupted.

yep noon kick, everyone drinking since 7 am

VT 2017.

FSU 2016.

UF 2013.
There was a FSU game maybe 08? We lost but I remember we were down 24-0 maybe 24-3 with a last minute FG right before halftime but we started storming back and got within 34-32 with a few minutes left in the 4th quarter and a freaking monsoon opened up. Not a single fan left and the crowd was going insane. We ended up losing by like 2 or 3 but that crowd was pretty rowdy, but post glory days its 2017 ND. That one is still mentioned in memes and players still talk about it.
