Best HC In ACC?

I didnt rank Swinney as a game day coach because I think his teams have consistently failed to live up to the hype. Like I said, there is a reasonfor the phrase "they pulled a clemson".. From a program perspective though, Swinney has done a great job in building the team into what it is today. What does this season hold for them? Are they really the world beaters people say or do they "pull a clemson" for the season opener?

Now, in contrast with Richt...true...he's had his share of teams failing on grand stages as well....but I gave him an edge over Swinney because at least a few of those losses came on bad bounces...bad calls. Clemson, again and again, has just gotten the doors blown off.

5 straight seasons with 10 or more wins, capped off by a close national title loss (which they may have won if alexander didn't get injured). Top ten finishes in 3 of the past 4 seasons. Swinney has an impressive resume.

What do you see in Cutliffe and Fedora? Both have worked magic as program leaders for sure, and on game day, has anyone pulled more performance from athletes on field than what Cutliffe has to work with?

Hmmm. JImbo is by far the best gameday coach. Say what you want but his play calling and adjustments are top notch. The second half of the auburn/championship game was a **** clinic.

Christian ponder and ej Manuel... First round picks? Dudes a fuqin magician.

Pound for pound , even tho I hate him after the ultimate bish fest he put on this yr after we beat him, Cutty is prob the best of the bunch. If he can do what he has at Duke. Scary what he would do at even Louisville.
But at the end of the day that's conjecture.
Overall : Swinney, Fisher, Richt, petrino, cutty
Game day: Fisher, Richt, petrino, cutty/Fuente

Hugh...strong points...don't disagree...just something in my gut tells me on game day, he's being carried through the overall program he's assembled (top notch no doubt). I think a Fisher/Cutliffe/Richt/Addazio coached Clemson, with what Swinney has assembled, maybe gets over the humo or doesnt get blown out on the big stage...

Again...he's a top program leader, just still not sold on game day...but maybe this season proves me 100% wrong...just opinion...

Not sure what else he can prove this season that he didn't last season. He's established a consistently nationally relevant program at Clemson to a degree that Richt hadn't at Georgia.

Can't disagree with your point. So is it NC or bust for Clemson? If the "pull a clemson" holds true, they take a step back this year starting with opening day. If they (he) have truly exorcised that demon, then a CFP appearance would be success. High bar indeed.

He has to keep it up tho. Richt came in on fire and pretty much stayed consistent. Can't compare him to a 15 year vet juuust yet.

Of all the coaches named, they all have had a huge hand in the teams success as a play calling, system developing, game day coach.

We know cutty, richt, petrino, jumbo, and Fuentes are great play callers and qb gurus. What is dabo swinney? He is a great CEO. That's what. Amazing delegation on his part but he himself as a tutor of the game of football hasn't had much part in Clemson's sucess

His gameday is *** he is an elite recruiter that's how he wins. The only thing though I like is that when he finds a weakness he will go after and he calls plays that his players are good at. He's not a genius though....he has this 5 star whoops your 4 or 3 star and that's it.....cook is stupid fast and there's nothing about playcalling that will make a linebacker catch him. If he gets a start he's gone and he has him because he recruited the **** out of him....he had Winston he recruited him that's u he won.

Fisher loses to many games he shouldn't without Winston to be considered the best gameday coach.

If you really believe this ****e then you believe that al golden could coach the 2001 Miami hurricanes To a ship with his system and methodology. And if you believe that I have some ocean front property in Oklahoma to sell you.

Dude is a beast at personnel groupings, formation use, adjustments, and game day decision making. This is why he wins and is simultaneously why he recruits so well.

You got it backwards bruh.

Disagree he Would bench half the team for freelancing and making plays behind the line of scrimmage

10-4 year one with acc title lost blowout and ou blowout cmon man....if we went to the acc and fsu beats us 41-10 do we get juedy? I guys say no but jimbo would he had the number one class after one fkin year

1. Dapo
Guy has made a mid tier ACC school into a legit NC contender that went head up with Bams. Also curb stomped his SEC in state school.

2. Jimbo
If Richt had won a Natty or a few more SECCGs, he's here. Jimbo needed the worst ACC in decades and a generational QB to win the Natty -- AND STILL almost choked it away.

3. Richto
I think this is sincere. Time will tell if it's correct. Genuinely think handing over OC controls hurt his results, but you are what your results say you are.

4. Petrino
He's banked everywhere but the turns.

5. Bronco
Rhymed.

Just because Clemson played for NC this past year doesn't mean they've shaken "pulled a Clemson" moniker rightfully earned yay. Lost after first sentence apparantly not hard to do...

How many times did DS address "clemsoning" in interviews last year? Too many to count.

Does world beater Clemson show up this year or do old habits die hard?
