Best assistant coach on both sides of the ball?

Dugans has the WRs playing at an extremely high level. What Brown did with Homer was awesome. Rumph is fine, but I would like to see our DBs make more plays rather than getting beaten so often. He's a fine coach, and we will see just how good he is now that he is getting better talent.

When rumph took over we lacked Miami talent at corner other than a few. We are starting to get there through recruiting and development(mike jack). Hurts that malek young got hurt but he was a baller too. I agree Though, some of the dbs were in great position to make plays but sometimes they didn’t but that’s more on the players imo than the coach

On offense it's Dugans and it's not close. Honorable mention to Hartley (TE's) as the baddest mother****in recruiter you know.
Defense, I gotta go with El Jefe Manny. I'm with most of you on the criticisms of him, but the bottom line is, it all starts and ends with him and his aggressiveness. Where this defense is now compared to before is simply remarkable. Time will tell if we become dominant, but Manny's D has definitely shown the ABILITY to dominate a game. 2nd half GT, ND, VT are examples. Now we need to see that all season without an embarrassing letdown.

Purely on coaching, I'd go with Thomas Brown (RBs) and Mike Rumph (CBs)
Every running back has gotten better under Brown since he's been here. At this time last season we were all of the opinion that if Mark Walton got hurt, we'd be screwed at RB. Walton got hurt, Homer took over and was even better. Add DJ Dallas' contributions during the second half of the year and Brown looks even better. I know he's technically also the OC but since he doesn't call plays nor design the offense, I'm just grading him as a RB coach. Dugans has been great at recruiting and honestly, I don't think I've ever seen UM receivers block this well but I'm not impressed with overall production from our WR group. Richards had an incredible freshman season but had some really bad drops as a sophomore. I know he was injured but his hands were not hurt. Berrios finally had a breakout season but no other receiver did much last year besides the occasional flash. Thomas and Harley might as well have redshirted considering they did next to nothing. Cager was healthy but has still really proven nothing on the field. Everybody remembers Langham for his big catches against FSU and GT but did he do anything else the rest of the season? Opponents didn't fear our receivers as evidence by the huge amount of man coverage we saw.
Everybody on defense has upside and downside. To me, Rumph has done the best job especially given the players he's inherited and had to work with. There is certainly room for improvement. Guys need to do a better job of making plays on balls that they're in position to defend. The good news is the corners are in position. The bad news is, they're not making plays on balls when they're in position. I see an improvement in this area as the talent at CB continues to get better. I guess you could say Banda has done a good job with safeties too but from what I've heard, Rumph is pretty much their coach too. Linebackers regressed last season with added responsibilities and I'm confident there will be no drop off in DL play even with Kool off to Alabama.

Isn't EVERY coach ( whether they are Coordinators, or position) considered to be an Assistants to the HC?
In other words , there is only one HC, .....ALL the others are there assisting him...thus Assistants

How many fumbles did the rbs have? I only remember 1 off the top of my head. Browns done an amazing job, but Ill give the nod to Dugans.
