Not to put to fine and edge on it but 1) last second TD pass for the win in Tally, 2) bails Mark and Berrios out for the brain fart onside kick against GT, 3) Crushes VT 4) puts program crushing HC career ending type beat down on ND in highest profile game we have had in over a decade, 5) gave our "glorified" HC his best start EVER. Not sure what "playing like a **** means" in your world but it seems like we could use some more players playing that way.
Hey, clock struck midnight and the dream ended. That does not mean the slipper fits any of the step sisters. We will see. But last year was the best feeling since ST, RIP, screwed up getting that pick 6 stripped from him against OSU. That 14 point swing killed our 6th NC and hung a loss on one greatest teams ever. Was that playing like a ****? No, Rosier is not in the same state as ST but last year was fun man, so cut the kid a break. Team needs to get better and that includes QB, defense and coaching.
We tend to highlight the good in wins and the bad in losses. That's why a lot of people only point to the last 3 games when they talk about Rosier. The truth is, he was mediocre most of the season.
Case in point: 1) Last second TD @ FSU should never have been needed. If he hadn't played pretty terrible for a majority of the game, they would have won going away and had the game on ice by the third quarter. The fact they needed a last second drive against a bad FSU team gets lost in the fact that they won the game. Rosier 19-44??? 254 3TD 1 INT
2)Against GT Rosier was 23-37 so his accuracy was better than usual but the offense struggled to find the endzone despite putting up almost 500 yards. I don't pin this completely on him either as the line struggled and there were some poor drops. Still, the big play that everyone remembers was the 4th down conversion pass to Langham that actually bounced off a GT defender and hit Langham in the facemask.
3) Went 11-22 for 202 with 2 TD and 3 picks against VT. Not sure I'm giving him all the credit for that win. The defense held VT under 300 yards and forced 4 turnovers.
4) Went 15-24 for 137 yards against ND. No bad interceptions but his performance was pretty pedestrian. Once again, the defense holding Notre Dame to 260 total yards and forcing 4 turnovers including a pick six was the reals story of the night.
These were all games that Miami won so nobody made too much noise about mediocre QB play but to those paying attention throughout the season, the last three games were not shocking.
So yeah, overall 10 wins was great and his overall numbers were alright. However, its' going to take a significant improvement in QB play for the team to get passed the 10 win barrier. Alright QB play is going to yield alright results.
