Berrios is not a return man. Time to find other options

Try Homer

I'd like to see this but the only concern there is fumbles. He runs very loose with the ball.

First, that is always a concern on a return.

Second, you mean the one fumble? He hardly has any carries, how can you see/say fumbles?

Look at how he runs with the ball. It's loose from his body and not protected well.

His style reminds me a bit of Stevan Ridley, formerly of the Patriots. Electric through the hole with the arms flailing and the ball loose. This caused Ridley a lot of problems in the NFL, but Homer obviously has a ton of time to correct it.

Hopefully Thomas Brown is able to get him to protect the ball better by the time he's getting meaningful snaps at RB.

He has one fumble. The concern with every returner (implied) is fumbling.

given the lack of depth at the WR and CB, berrios is the best bet. cannot risk elder getting injured.

also, he ran laterally (he caught most of the balls right in front of us) because he could not go vertical. all of the FAU punt defenders were right in the middle

I think they are going the safe route with Berries returning punts. He seems like he's not gonna make any head scratching decisions that would hurt the team. With that said, I heard Malek Young was a helluva return man high school. Maybe they should give him a look.

Lol...some of you stating Bruce... Hello, he has a serious knee injury and probably done for the year. Starting RB, starting CB, starting WR is not doing it....so give me someone else on the team that is going to be reliable...

He is not a dangerous punt returner. But I think with Sam's injury, we're going to err on the side of reliability.

This team cannot afford to use one of our CBs on Punt Return right now.
Maybe in a big game, late in the season but that has to be done sparingly.
And we all know that Sam Bruce is out with a broken fibula/sprained ankle/ACL/MCL/CCL/Athlete's foot
or whatever it is that he has that will be keep him off the field this season.
So who do you geniuses want to do the returns?
Offer some names.

In a perfect world the easy choice is Elder. Just not sure you can afford the injury risk. Still, I think you have to consider it once we begin ACC play.

Berrios has sure hands and is very quick. If we had a guy Richt could trust better than Berrios he would be returning punts. He got caught on a great effort by the FAU guy and all of a sudden he isnt quick enough. This board has amusing OP's .SMDH

I will take the risk of a fumble if it means more dynamic returns or tds. I'll rock w homer, young, and Mullins.

Throw coley, richards, or elder back there for the big games.

Broken leg, not a knee injury. Big difference.

Didn't the track team get a kid from Texas who use to play football too? Brando Taylor, Hes very fast

Yeah, I'd like to see Homer back there on kickoffs....

Maybe in the future....

Is that what it is?
I've heard everything from the resident geniuses on this board from knee to ankle and in a few minutes I am sure
someone will say he has a bad case of diabeetus feet or varicose veins.
