Bentavious Thompson (RB) decommits

Whoever made the decision, it was a wise decision. Good luck to him. Certainly a college caliber running back. Now he has more fuel to burn as he moves forward.

Good luck to him. To those of you saying fiu - watch the fcking tape. This kid would be a solid recruit for a lot of squads. He'll have plenty of options.

Best of luck to the kid. This however, is a great sign for Miami. This is the start of passing on guys who go to USF, UCF, FIU and FAU and other less significant universities. We are out of the diamond in the rough era, to discovered diamonds era.
I know people will say, we built this program on diamonds in the rough, and kids with chips on their shoulder, but recruiting services and camps aren't what they used to be, times have changed. Of course, there will always be exceptions like, Khalil Mack, but you can't expect to sign 25-50 recruits to get that one diamond. Now we need to stop the biases and actually trust the services, respectively, because Miami caliber is on the rise again.

The kid had the look but seemed a few steps slow for the ACC. Glad he was not put at safety under DnO

Best of luck to him. Sucks to see a recruit pushed out, but that's the way it goes sometimes.

Actually, it's great to see a low-level recruit get pushed out if you're a UM fan. If you're Thompson or a Thompson fan then it sucks.

I wish him well in life. But if he's not playing for UM I don't wish him well on the field.

I'm going to give Mark Richt and Thomas Brown the benefit of the doubt when it comes to deciding the caliber of running back they want to recruit.

Especially since almost all our diamonds were found by one guy and he has not been here for a long time.

Was he originally offered by Golden or Richt?

Either way, good luck to the kid. He handled it with class.

Love the insincere posts regarding his de-commitment. If he were a 4 or 5 star everyone would be bashing the kid or the staff. Since he's a 3 star an not a **** recruit its ok because we need better which I also agree.

Comes with the territory but its funny to read all the insincere comments.

I agree with you 99% of the time. BUT if he ends up at a non-conf school theres no reason to not wish him to have a good career.

How does this board feel about Malik Davis? Why does this kid not have better offers?

Out of all the realistic names we've heard mentioned, he's at the top of my list. The young man hits the hole and is at top speed quicker than any back we're recruiting. His burst, it is almost freakishly insane, very rare elite level stuff. He's flown mostly under the radar, but his film is second to none. Yes, I have him rated higher than McFarland, Felix, and Burns.

Another guy I absolutely love is Lemons. Speed for days, decent size, and will round out nicely at this level. I have him, Davis, and McFarland above Felix. I like Felix, but I'm not sold that he'll be a running back at this level. He wants to come, you take him and figure it out from there.

I almost forgot, good luck to this young man. He handled the situation with class and hopefully as adults, we'll do the same.

I love this kids feet and patience through the hole. He has a great vision and feel for the inside run. I don't know if his burst is elite but it sure does seem like he breaks open for a lot of long runs. Like a lot of other backs its hard to tell from his film if he is able to pass protect and catch pass out of the back field.

I like Lemons a lot but I don't think we have much of a chance landing him. He seems all UNC with UF as his number two.
