Becks INT..

it's really surprising to me that we haven't done more work from under center this year, being that it's something beck did plenty of at georgia. i suppose it may not really be in dawson's bag, and i don't know enough about offensive design to know how easy or difficult it would be to bring under-center looks into the passing concepts that dawson runs.
That's specifically why I've only been asking for Pistol. I definitely think under center is good for QBs and truly unlocks Play Action.

But we know for a fact we have Pistol in the playbook as we did it a lot towards the back half of the season which "coincidentally" coincided with Martinez starting to play great... Hmm maybe when you want to spam inside runs all day getting RBs moving forward is beneficial, and it unlocking play action makes EVERYONES job easier....

Daniels ran a ****** route and Beck made a ****** pass. Lots of work to do on offense. We may need this bye week.

The worst part of that INT wasn't the throw.

It was the TIMING. The gators had just regained pretty much all momentum and that INT, at that time, was the worst possible thing we could have done. It boosted so much energy and hope on the other side and had our fans feeling like "oh boy here we go again".

Thankfully the D stepped up but if they didn't, UF could have taken the lead on that drive and who knows if we ever would get momentum back again.

But Carson, as a veteran, has to be more aware in that situation and know how crucial a few first downs were in that scenario. Was a big mental error more than the physical one.

I know it’s one game, but Beck has been throwing behind his receivers all season and our wideouts have made some outstanding catches bailing him out. Hopefully he uses this bye week to clean things up and get better. However, you can go back in my post history and I still wish we would have went with Mendoza instead. Would have been a lot cheaper as well.

Behind and low oftentimes too....

Should have ran. Under pressure stepped up in the pocket, then threw the ball after he looked like he was deciding to run. BE DECISIVE nothing wrong with a 10-15 yard gain on the ground.

He also has Fletcher wide open for 10+ to his left.

To be fair that’s what we do to him. That’s 4 in two years

It was the wrong read. Put it down the sideline over top of Toney and its one man to beat.

If we would run pistol and ACTUAL play action, I'd be a lot more confident in Beck for the full season.

With this current run game the most critical thing that we need is explosive plays. Clearly with how we are running our offense we can't expect them out of the run game. They need to come out of the pass game. We don't neccessarily need like 35+ yard bombs, but we need to be able to attack 10-20 yards, and the best way to do that ESPECIALLY with our run game is Play Action. Against ND we passed 30 times with only 5 being PA. Against USF we passed 28 times with 10 being PA. Will be interested to see what it is for this game.

I do think Beck and Goff have a lot of similarities just in terms of their strengths and weaknesses. But Goff is ******* Dominant on Play Action passes. I already think PA out of shotgun is garbage. But last year we started going Pistol a lot, and I think we need to get back to that...

He'll have a couple games where he plays like crap. For the most part I think he'll play good though. UF had a bad pass rush, but for the most part they've been good defensively this season.
Comparing Beck and Jared Goff is just laughable. I'm not the biggest Goff fan, but he is playing incredible football. Beck is a day 3 pick right now and would struggle to make a practice squad in the NFL with his mechanics and inability to lead an offense. With our OL, its embarrassing how bad our passing game was.
