Beck Key to Victory vs T A@M

I see Mali as the offensive X factor. A&M's slot corner has the worst coverage grade and allows the highest completion % out of all of A&M's DBs. I expect Mali will likely have 10+ catches and well over 100 yards.

I feel Dawson is the key to victory. If he doesn't call a good game...come out and use multiple packages formations + keep A$M off balance our O will stall out. This would not be advisable vs an explosive high scoring team like TAMU. We need a fast start offensively and preferably be able to play from ahead.

If they allow their slot corner to go match with Toney, I will be beyond shocked.

I expect them to bracket the **** out of Toney every chance they get. If Dawson is moving him around, we're in business.

Toney doesn't stay in one spot too much and if they do bracket, I'd put money on daniels eating since he will be fully healthy. Every team has failed so far to stop toney, let alone stop both

It'll come down to beck and dawson

I see Beck as the X factor in this game. Not Toney, not Pringle, not the linebackers nor the trenches. These all will do their jobs. We win if Beck takes what the defense gives him, does not force the ball, takes his check downs, and doesn’t throw picks.
As simple as a who’s team has better QB play

Against Pitt he lined up in every position except for OL. I hope their defense is screaming "where's ten?" every play.

I changed my mind and put it on the oline. They keep Beck clean and not rattled and I think he will do his thing. He start getting happy feet and its over. Also that doesnt mean only pass protection, "Mario ball" will be a plus in this game. I have said Mario Ball WORKS in games like these, its the other games where the team might not be as locked in and the other team can hang around that make it an issue. This is a perfect Mario Ball game for multiple reasons but main one is 3rd and long..

Elko entire system hopes to get you behind the sticks, then on 3rd and medium to long they thrive at a record setting number because he can unleash a very potent blitz package. In total their 3rd down defense is best one in 10 years and top 2 in last 20. (Mich 2016 being other).. The splits from 3rd and 6+ and 3rd and below are HUGE. If we can avoid pre snap issues and grind out 3 yard gains on early downs that is a win. We stick to run game, we will pop a few (which we havent done all year but dammit) because they struggle wit run fits at times.. take our shots and keep them off balance, that will allow Beck to thrive.

Too many 3rd and longs and it will cause major issues..

My biggest worries besides Dawson & TVB - not THAT worried about those, but, am concerned about officiating with regards to early presnap penalties and holding calls.

Brockmeyer has me concerned. To the points about Elko's 3rd n long therapy, if the zeebs start dinking us out the gate, they may set the tone for us to struggle.

Now, will we gett any holding calls for us? pressing F for doubt.

It does seem from comments made by A&M offensive players, that they are a tad over confident and look at Miami as an easy round 1 win before moving on to OSU. THAT is a big PLUS going in as I believe they will be a bit surprised how well Miami actually matches up against SEC teams at the LOS on both sides.

I might lose it if brokenmeyer start that scared snapping ****

Key is the running game. A&M gives up 5.5 ypc & 5.7 ypc up the middle. If you can’t exploit that, you’re working harder not smarter

I agree with this take.

A&M comes across a tad overconfident aside from their Head Coach.

We line up well against them, it's going to be an interesting game. We must come out highly motivated and fired up.

It seems that Beck does worse with more time and I don’t think he’s going to have the time this game to hang back there and overthink. He’s been very decisive recently and if that continues we should be able to move the ball.
I tend to agree and think that may have to do with the internal clock that has been baked into his brain since HS, once his first 2 reads arent there he appears to panic even if he has time as he realizes he is beyond 3 seconds now. He looks much more c omfortable getting into a rhythm and just stepping and throwing. Now I may also be a bit harsh because we got spoiled with this last year:

#4 is just silly lol

Team with the better quarterback usually wins.
And I do think we have the better QB. Reed has been bad in the passing game since LSU. 10 TD 6 INT. However he’s made up a bit for it on the ground. Remarkably, we have played well against running QBs this year.

Beck, in that same period, has 14 TD and 3 INT.
