Beck analysis

Didn’t help that their DBs and backers turned into Jerry Rice. Some of the best plays I’ve seen all year by defenders. He has underthrown some deep balls though. The pick on the ball to Marion was a great play by the DB but it wasn’t a great throw. 25/35 for 275 is awesome but you’re never going to overcome 4 turnovers and those killer penalties. Just running in mud all night. But I didn’t think he made a lot of bad decisions and very few poor throws. Honestly the worst one of the entire night I think was the one that got called back for the terrible roughing call.

It’s a better result than going 3 and out and punting.
I don't understand what you're getting at. We had already gotten a first down on both those drives. He threw 2 dumb INTs on early downs, when he had multiple checkdowns open, when we had had some success already on those drives.

If he would just take what was available, he could FEED.

And if the coaching staff would attack the opponent's strategy, rather than trying to pit strength to strength - we could FEED.

We're as predictable as the sunrise.

I’m saying our O is dog****. If we go three and out and punt, than the pick is no different. Even better.

The picks were the same as punts. That’s part of the reason we gave up zero points for turnovers.

Of course they hurt us offensively.

Now, as far as plays themselves, I’m a big believer the WR needs to get separation, which ours can’t. Also, I was taught to make sure the defender never catches it. I was at the game, so my view wasn’t like TV. but it didn’t look like the Wr did Beck any help. Go up and get the ball.

Ok thanks for clarifying. Agree the picks functioned as punts because the defender fell down on both.

We had just scored a TD on our second drive, and we had gotten a first down on both pick drives before Beck chucked it up there. We were moving the ball. We continued to move the ball the next drive when we got the FG. There was no reason for Beck to be so reckless on both passes. They had numbers defending both guys deep. He had check downs open both times.

True, they didn't score any points off the INTs, but we could have scored 3-14 points on those drives. We lost by 3 points.

I think what Murray was getting at earlier in the video, when he highlighted the successful slot fade to Toney on our 1st TD drive is that it wasn't a great decision for Beck to attempt that pass, even though it worked out. He then took increasingly ill-advised deep shots and threw two INTs.

Check downs are the part for me that is head scratching. Open guys that he refuses to throw to in favor of the much more difficult long ball.

This season is all about how Beck responds. Yes he had 4 picks but he also did some great things. That play in the endzone where he stepped up in the pocket and made a completion was elite. It is all on his shoulders now. But he needs a run game. I am perplexed by the lack of push last night and why they continue to run into asses. And where is Moore? And Brock Schott??
Yep soon as we couldn’t run for 2 yards I knew it was Big Trouble in Little China.

It was definitely one of those games. Crazy **** all day. Fake FG conversion, ridiculous penalties, injuries, everyone for ‘Ville making plays of the season (last INT is like wtf seriously), previously injured RB who does nothing for a month miraculously averages 76 yards per carry, and our QB doesn’t just lay an egg (2-3 picks) he gapes for a freakin golden one (really 5 picks, no tuddies).

That way too familiar feeling, pretty much from the start.

The guy SUCKS! He is more system than superstar, he benefited from GA star roster. Pocket pressure and reads is not good, lacks awareness , does not know how to check down and his arm strength is questionable. % to 7th round pick!
It was said many times on here that the one thing he does good is take the check down

PFF said we missed 28 tackles (I believe it) too. Most since Mario has been here.

If Beck quits turning the ball over, we should win our remaining regular season games and make the playoff.

Such a small margin between success and disaster.

1st INT - not a terrible ball and great defensive play but underthrown and high risk
2nd INT - underthrown giving Marion a chance to make a play and good defensive play
3rd INT - pressure in face by DT (McCoy whiff) so misses Lofton open in flats for 1st down
4th INT - Cici doesn't pick up outside rusher fast enough which rushes Beck and causes fake hot read which gets tipped/picked.
I though the first int was a PI.

The problem with the second INT was it was under throw and he threw it to a guy who isn't the best wr. A guy like CJ would have tried to make a play on that ball better than Marion.

He tried to play hero and cost us.

My opinion... Beck was trying to win the Heisman by going for the splash plays instead of the layups. Cam did this as well, but he was talented enough to have more success. Beck had guys open underneath, but chose to go for the deep shots. The defense did make some really good plays on the ball, but Beck was known more for keeping the offense on schedule than having a bunch of "Heisman moments". I could be completely wrong.
Yall don’t realize how much cam took the easy plays man lol. What beck did is not similar to what cam did at all

Cam would see no one was open and try make plays out of structure, beck made his mistakes in structure..When cam was in structure he didn’t make these same mistakes..

Its because cam is far superior as a processor pre and post snap than beck is. Beck isn’t a terrible processor but alot of his mistakes is because you can speed him up, with cam you couldn’t

This is why i keep saying dawson offense will only be as good as the qb, he said it himself. He puts alot of responsibility on them, most college offenses is the coordinator scheming up easy completions and big plays, dawson does that but not as much.

On top of that the run & pass games aren’t meshed well and this is what we get when both are struggling because teams win the trenches battle and have our tendencies down. Cam saved us, tvd sunk the ship, hopefully beck doesn’t

Also this is how you will lose guys in the locker room. Should only be a convo with your teammate…Georgia fans warned us about this kind of stuff

We all know wat type of player Beck is. If u rely on him to carry the offense with no run game, this is wat u get. If we had a good run game u take the ball out of his hand while still producing
