Analyzing Beck is largely pointless. His struggles are a symptom of a bad offensive scheme/playcalling and not the cause of our problems. Flip Brohm and Dawson and tell me what this game looks like.

I posted this in another thread. Murray knows Beck personally. He was surprised and thought it was out of character for Beck to miss so many check downs. The one that sticks out was the double move and how Beck locked on Marion. He had someone wide open for a first down in his line of sight.
My thought is Beck was going for the Heisman and big plays early on. He had the night to himself and the running game stunk so he wanted to prove everyone wrong.
Hopefully he learns and Dawson diversifies this run game or else this will end no differently than past years where we start hot.
