If he leaves for USC that is career suicide.

He’s never getting a HC job in the P5 so he doesn’t need it for his résumé. Really doesn’t matter what we pay, if LSU wants him he’s going there. It’s his dream job and we’re not paying more and it doesn’t matter if we do. He’s still going to go if the opportunity presents itself.

I don’t see Brian Kelly hiring him. Don’t think the personalities fit. Someone is hiring Zach Arnett and someone is hiring Jim Leonard, likely the 2 biggest schools looking this off-season split those 2 and it won’t get bigger than USC/LSU. Plenty of other good names out there that aren’t from Louisiana and even then, the best DC with Louisiana ties right now is Blake Baker anyway. So why would they want Guidry?

Guidry has been great but we run one of the slowest offenses in the country and protect our defense and we still rank 43rd. He’s far from irreplaceable.

Must keep Guidry. LSU and USC and other programs may very well take a run at him. Miami needs to be proactive and extend him with an increase in pay. With the resources some schools have you’re not going to be able to pay him that a buyout is a problem. If he leaves, he leaves, but **** better not be about not trying to keep him.

We also don’t need annual turnover at coordinator.

God knows Mario would not have a coordinator hired until late February, early March, if Guidry left.

The bar is not exactly high for Miami anymore.

Impossible to judge Dawson with the qb play we’ve had this season. After A&M we thought he was the man. After that the qb went in to a coma. Dawson deserves to stay with a consistent QB
Dawson’s ******* puckered up so tight you couldn’t drive a straight pin up his *** with a 10 lb sledgehammer from Ga Tech on. He blew his load the first 4 games.

Dawson on "air raid":

"Yeah, the pass game, our pass game blueprint is Air Raid, the same thing I learned 20 years ago. Now, do we throw it every time? No. There is nobody out there that throws it every time. The guy that did that (Mike Leach) passed away last year. He was really the last guy that was throwing it as much as he wanted to. He also worked for himself, right? We want to play compatible football here. I want to do everything I can do to move the ball as much as I can and also have a lot of other things in my mind, you know? I don’t want to put our team in a bad position. If we’re struggling and not getting first downs like I want to get first downs I want to go slower because I don’t want to go three and out fast because I know our defense might have just went out there for eight or 10 plays. The logic behind speed of play to me has a lot to do with understanding how the flow of the game is.”

I thought the bold comment was interesting.... Made me wonder if that was a subtle reference to Mario being involved..

It's not subtle. Every coordinator answers to the HC in some form. The head coaches that call plays work for themselves.
