I don't think you'll see major poaching until we bring home a trophy. Then all ****'s going to break loose and the Board of Trustees is going to have to start spending huge coin for solid Assistants again.
I'm curious about something. Do you know what we're spending on assistants? Since we'd have to START doing that I figured I'd ask you.

I nearly started a thread about this last night. Dawson is on hot boards I've seen for all 3 openings. We might have to replace him. Hope not. If we do I'd love to go after Mitch Dahlen at Oregon State. But could see Mario wanting someone more experienced.

This was inevitable. When you put up the numbers Dawson has, despite what some people here think, teams will want you as their HC.

I don't think Mario will mess up the inevitable hire like Lanning did with Drew Mehringer.

If Dawson was to leave for a head coaching job, I'd call Lincoln Riley and see if he likes South Florida. He'll be looking for work by the end of the season.

Who did he interview with in the past? Tulane? Who else?

I think he would absolutely be interested in Baylor. But I kinda think they will look at Traylor or Kinne

I highly doubt Baylor hires Dawson.

Their primary criteria that they're looking for is a Coach with Central & East Texas roots for recruiting purposes.

Dawson obviously has history in Texas from his time at SFA & Houston, but he's more of a Louisiana man.

He certainly will be a candidate on their list of names, but I would imagine, GJ Kinne, Jeff Traylor, Phil Longo, Todd Whitten, Mack Leftwich & Sean Brophy will all be heavily in contention for the job as well.

It really just depends on what Baylor's vision is for the future & how committed they are to NIL budget.

They're not in an impossible spot to be turned around as a program. All they really need is the right HC-QB pairing & they can be right there competing with OK ST, Utah & Houston for the Big XII.

This is some unfortunate crap because that Baylor University opening is going to be hella enticing to Coach Dawson.

An Baylor has a little oil money in their Alumni, so they can put together some strategic NIL deals.

Go Canes
Mario has a short list for both OC' & DC, do not jump to soon !!! to Dawson & Heatherman. take your time make the right jump
like Stien at UK

if I had to bet he will take a job this year, but he’s prolly making 3 million here, Baylor or TCU would only pay around 4 million….
