Bauman

Was completely ****ed he dropped that td, his drop and Lofton’s at SMU were exactly the same play and result… caught it, got hit, and dropped it.
Every play matters. Every catch, every drop. Every tackle, or missed tackle.

Every single play and every single individual effort within each play matters critically to wins and losses.

When a player says, "I won or lost the game because of x, y, or z"., they are absolutely correct along with each one of their teammates. Some distinct plays have more impact than others, but every single one matters in Ws and Ls.

3-5 players not ******* up on one little thing and Miami is undefeated today, yet here our Canes are, looking at the Pop Tarts Bowl....AGAIN.

Such a ******* waste.

Beck's throw was a little behind Bauman, closing the cushion between Bauman and the VT DB. Beck needs to throw that ball to the pylon. Still a very catchable ball, and an inexcusable drop for a 21-3 lead. That was one of the plays that halted UM's offensive momentum.

Do you know which coach holds the record for the most wins as an unranked team over AP ranked opponents? The late great Mike Leach, with 18 wins (btw I'd say his 11 win seasons at Texas Tech and WSU are more impressive than any of Cristobal's seasons given the competition and the era). His teams were giant killers. I think he was a guy worth listening to. I have quoted his opinion about TEs many times and I think it is worth saying again. “Tight ends are just fat quarterbacks. They don’t run fast enough to be receivers and they don’t block well enough to be linemen.”

Unless you have a TE who brings a unique matchup advantage (Shockey, Graham, Njoku, etc) I don't think it's worth putting a TE on the field. Given Cristobal's style of play, I'd much rather just have a 6th OL (a real OL) on the field, or an extra WR or RB. Unfortunately Dawson and Cristobal have a tough time accepting when something doesn't work and changing it.

If we bench him who do we play? Schott and Nickel were listed as Out on the injury report. Pretty sure both are done for the year. Carver has missed all season with a knee injury. Gilbert played 6 snaps total against Syracuse and NC State. Only other TE that has played this is walk-on Owen Ruskavich
if we bench him we bring in one of our wrs that run faster than a 5.0 40.

Dawson is an air raid guy....tes arent a big component there....this dude is a waste of time split out wide on passing downs. i would tell Mario n Woodiel to go ***kt hemselves and their tes and put in another wr.

even on Lofton's td i think his slow *** was in as a clear out route smh

I mean I agree playing 4 WR would maximize the talent on the field but cmon let’s be realistic. Mario is not going to be good with that.

Genuinely don't get what defense there is for not just throwing Gilbert out there in the past 2-3 games when we were literally playing all the young guys. Made no ******* sense. Could have forced good reps on him and had him maybe ready to contribute more in important game of Pitt and perhaps playoffs. But now we have no shot of that happening.

I have little faith we go more 4 WR sets. But no matter how bad he has been Lofton has still been better and should AT LEAST out snap Bauman 70/30...

Please tell me if i sound crazy and feel free to light me up! But do we hate the idea of Fletcher moving to TE i think he has the best hands from the RV position a monster blocker and i think he can have a future there …

I thought Bauman could make the transition but he is a bust. Worst portal evaluation other than Bonner. Sit him. Either Gilbert or Ruskovich or just no TE. I’d rather go four or five wide with legit receivers more often anyway. And if we want to run max protect bunch then bring in another OL.

Bauman turned in towards the DB before securing the ball... watch the replay. If he just focuses on securing the football, he's in comfortably

It's up to Bauman to make the adjustment and hold on to the ball. We need to move on from him..

This is going to be a very negative post....

His BEST Receiving grade in any game all season by PFF was a dog**** 64.3 against Bethune Cookman.

He has an overall grade for the season of 47.0 !!!! He is LITERALLY the lowest graded player on the entire ******* offense. And this dude is 7th in ******* snaps. He is 4th!!! of all our receiving options in snaps played. This is ******* insane that he still plays so much. And the crazier thing is 36% of his snaps are out of the ******* Slot! I'm even more concerned with the 3% of his snaps Out Wide.

Oh but maybe he can block right? He has a 51.0 Run Blocking grade on the season. On 242 Run Blocking snaps... The ONLY people on the entire offense that have a lower grade are Fletcher (48.8) who isn't asked to run block much at all, Upshaw, Trader, and Chance Robinson who only has played 12 snaps.

He's 7th on the team in targets with 17. He turned that into 10 catches (58.8% Rec%) for 68 YARDS... ON THE ENTIRE SEASON. This guy has played 445 Snaps - 203 snaps in the receiving game. And he has 68 TOTAL YARDS. But hey 51 of those are YAC! He has a WHOPPING 0.41 Yards per route run. Good for dead last on the roster, and 3x LESS than Lofton.

He NEEDS TO BE BENCHED!!!!! What the ****
Sigh
