Pretty solid article. Nothing earth shattering but it was interesting to find a positive quote from Ice Harris:

While the Gators have pulled some difference-makers out of South Florida, it has been the hometown Hurricanes and the Seminoles that have battled for the majority of the top prospects.

"It has always been the same," said American Heritage coach Mike Rumph, a former Miami star and NFL first-round pick. "The Florida Gators were in there when I came out, but they didn't recruit real hard down south. On the contrary, Florida State and UM did. Florida State stayed true to me and recruited me until the day I signed with UM. That's still the way it is down here."

In the Class of 2014, there are six prospects ranked in the top 50 in the ESPN 300, and 23 all told in the three counties. A whopping 16 of the 23 have committed to Miami, FSU or Florida.

"I think everybody has a chance," said Miami Booker T. Washington coach Tim "Ice" Harris. "Everyone has a fair chance. I think Florida State has done a good job. Not going after everybody, but those three or four guys that can come in and make a difference or make an impact. With Miami, Coach [Al] Golden has been doing a terrific job trying to keep a lot of guys at home. I think that Florida, to me, has been on the outside and hasn't really come in and grinded like the other two in my eyes."
