Ye of little faith.
Now we’re all supposed to be worried about Miami’s opponent after VT because they scored a lot of points on a USC team that hasn’t been able to stop anybody? Washington State hung an L on USC and then went on to lose by 34 to Cal 2 weeks later, yet some folks are conceding a loss while their knees knock, proclaiming “we have to win win VT or hope VT lose”. Hope they lose? So Miami can win the Coastal? **** the Coastal. Yes, I said it! Again! UNC is the Super Bowl, as far as I’m concerned.
This team has just as much ability to go undefeated into the CFP as it does to “win the Coastal”. It takes no extra effort. All Miami needs to be is healthy enough -which isn’t as much of an issue with almost the entire roster getting reps- and the games will be won. By one point or more...it doesn’t matter.
USC was way overrated. They were a 1-loss “unranked” team going into that game, based on how they’ve played the entire season. They may as well have been UVA to start the day.
USC
Western MI W 31 - 49
Stanford W 24 - 42
Texas W 24 - 27
California W 30 - 20
Washington St L 27 - 30
Oregon State W 10 - 38
Utah W 27 - 28
I think a team to look at for how Miami’s opponents played common foes would be UNC.
California L 35 - 30
Louisville L 47 - 35
Old Dominion W 53 - 23
Duke L 27 - 17
Georgia Tech L 7 - 33
**** L 33 - 10
Virginia L 20 - 14
Virginia Tech L 7 - 59
Miami is not the team of the last decade. Can’t you see the difference?
My guess is VT is the toughest out remaining on the schedule and Miami will win that too. Why? These kids don’t look ahead; they just play whoever is in front of them. Smell familiar? That’s Canes cooking.
One. Game. At. A. Time.
