Basically the whole season comes down to

Today's Miami team will get rolled by both VT and ND

While that's possible, matchups aren't that simple. Football is a game of give and take. We took a lot of what Syracuse did away today, but that left is vulnerable in other areas.

Bottom line, we need to execute a whole **** of a lot better offensively. Rosier, I really can't complain at all with his play. Richards had some drops, but if healthy, those are balls he catches. Red zone needs to tighten up, but the game was much closer today than it should've been because of us, not Syracuse.

Beat VT and you’re playing for the Orange Bowl and ACC Championship.
Beat Notre Dame and the talk shifts to playoff odds

From my perspective from Section 138:

1. We beat VT.

2. ND rolls us.

Hate that that's the case, but our weaknesses are the Domer's strengths.

Vatech and ND over next month. Have to find a way to win at least the vatech game to secure the coastal title.

We need to shore up our run D and get a better push up front at OL in order to win these games. ND can really run the ball, I would hate to have to lose to that team again.

That said, great job by the cardiac canes to make it 6-0!

Our DL is most improved under Coach Kuligowski last 2 years.

Also, Homer looks like we almost don't miss a beat without Walton, but Walton is a special back, so don't want to go that far. Great job by Homer again today!

Our DB's are playing better every week. I feel our LB's need to pick up their play some to help improve the run D.

GO CANES!

What about the OL improvement? They are giving Rosier decent protection. When Donaldson returns, the run game will pick up. The OL is not elite, but it certainly has made strides from last year.

VT game is crucial. They look tough with the scores they have run up against Delaware, ECU, UNC, and ODU. They did beat a scrappy BC and UWV. But, the best team they played beat them by two TDs, and that was the same team that SU beat. I like UM's chances against VT at home.

ND looks tough. They also beat a scrappy BC and easily handled MSU. But, punking the Trojans at home is not all that impressive if you believe that USC is a fraud. It will be a battle, but one where UM has the home-field edge. If key Canes are healthy, I like UM chances.

Blowing out UNC next week is important. Put the game away by halftime and rest the starters in the 2nd half. This could be the difference against VT the following week.

Is there any chance that Duke ambushes VT next week?

Richt has to find a way to manufacture TDs in the redzone.
... FGs will kill us against better teams... If we're going to lose one I prefer it be nd. Would love for game day to show... undefeated Miami v 1 loss ND should be exciting...

This team knows how to win close games. I expect them to win close games against both the Hokies and ND at home.
And there's a chance we can roll against each team if we improve in in redzone situations offensively, and on third downs defensively.
(But I am not banking on either one of those.)

If this was the NFL i’d Agree. But it’s college so we could beat those teams...lose to Pitt and it’s over.

Pummel UNC and you might get a night game and Gameday in Coral Gables.

Probably will end up in Bama for another LSU/Alabama yawn fest though.

Gameday's never going to Hard Rock. They'll go to Bama LSU.

Well they wouldn't go to Hard Rock, they'd either be on campus or they'd spot up on South Beach. It's possible, but they've got other solid options that weekend.

You got:
Clemson @ NC State
Penn State @ Sparty
Oklahoma @ OkSt
Stanford @ WaSt

They should come to Miami since NC State and Penn State could lose this week and no one cares about the Big 12.

But they'll probably end up at Bedlam unless OkSt loses to West Virginia this week.

Gayday can suck on these nuts. F that crew. Those boys aren't welcome

Yes I'm sure the University and the coaching staff would turn down a 4 hour free commercial for the school and the team. That would absolutely work in our favor.

Take 1 game at a time. We do however need to improve the consistency on offense(didn’t think think the play calling was too bad outside of a few plays) drops made that game a lot closer than it should have been tbh. The biggest need of improvement is stopping the run. Idk what the fvck has happened when we were dominant at it last year.

If we stay unbeaten our chance to get gameday is 11/11. I do not think they have been here since 2000 or 2002.

We don’t need to take one game at a time because we arent on the team, and even if we lost to UNC (not happening) we could still win the coastal by beating VT.

It’s going to be a challenge. I haven’t really watched them this year. Anybody have any insight?

Please somebody, anybody tell me why you give a crap if Gameday comes to Miami? There is zero, I mean ZERO benefit for Miami.

If Richt can get his play calling going and the offense starts executing for a full game we absolutely will win against VT and ND....our defense has been playing lights out and holding teams well under their season average. Look what we did to Dungey when many were worried he was going to torch us....these last two games both would have been double digit victories if we convert a few more 3rd downs and stop leaving points on the board in the redzone... our defense can and will do enough to beat VT and ND

Richt just needs to figure this sht out on O or hire a OC . We have the talent and the playmakers...we don't have the execution and play calling
The fact that we can play this terribly on O and still win shouldn't be underestimated ...this team steps up in big moments so far this year and there'll be plenty of those next month ...I don't think we should be too worried tbh...I would only worry if we struggle against UNC

I love how our Defense has this 6th sense when they know the game is on the line

I absolutely hate that our OL consistently gets punked by inferior DL on short yardage runs. If it's first and goal at the 7 yard line we should be able to run it 3 or 4 times for a TD, however this OL has proven they aren't up for the task.
