Barry Jackson on Fall Camp Battles

Can't forget that Walton should have been a Senior in high school last year as well (he reclassified up a year thank god or we would have no running backs after everyone bailed on the Coach ***). I'm sure that had to be a tough transition. That combined with Coley game calling, and turnstile OL I'm not surprised at the results.

I'll wait and see how he produces this year but if he's outperforming the others then that is the best we have. Need to start closing on some home run threat/game changers at RB. Being located in Sth FLA should make that task fairly easy you'd think.

He was a year behind and by reclassifying what he actually did was catch up.He's right where he should have been all along.

Gus is in his 4th year and still aint consistently running like a big back. Smh. Wouldnt be suprised if he transfers after this year.
Everybody negged the homie 252 but he was 100% correct.

Last offseason the hot takes centered around Edwards, Berrios, Bruce.

This year I'm feeling Homer, Cager, Berrios as the ones receiving the most hype.

How do some of you dudes remember all this ****?

It's crazy. They catalog **** to use as "gotcha" moments. They remind me of all the chicks I used to date. Those bytches couldn't remember to lock the door when they left the house, but they'd remember a stray comment from two years prior.

**** bruh you digged in the bottom of the crates for this **** lol.
Just giving you credit because I agreed with you when you said it as far back as August & everybody negged the **** out of you, even though you were absolutely correct.

Come on, most of us knew that Edwards had no future as an RB at Miami after watching him get stuffed at the goal line consistently. Softest big back I've even seen. Consistently went down from arm tackles.

I think the debate was lively. Everyone saw that he ran too upright, and preferred to kick to the outside to use his speed as opposed to follow his blocker and use his power in the middle. He did not have great gap awareness. But I think many of us, including myself, saw enough from Gus as a true sophomore pre-injury to believe he could be more. He flashed several times, breaking tackles and getting lower to the ground. He was never going to be Ron Dayne, but I personally thought he could be a better Mike James for us. That injury really set him back, IMO. But it's all speculation on whether he would have taken a step or not.

Apparently not since he got hit with that corny neg feature

Wasn't me. I've been anti Gus for a long time. Anyone that thought he was better than Walton or Yearby was just kidding themselves. I'd bet money he doesn't do much of anything at Rutgers.

You're arguing two separate points. Walton beat Edwards for the starting role. But we want players on your team, and clearly Brown thought Edwards deserved snaps. Coach Brown wanted Edwards back and publicly said he wished he'd played him more. Which suggests he should be good enough to take snaps at Rutgers. I'm sure Rutgers is ecstatic to have him, even if he doesn't become their feature back. If he can get back to pre-injury, I think he could be very good.
