I stated in Spring, Mario better win because the way he's treating the media, as if he was going to teach them how to cover his team by access, would come back and bite him if he fails. The vultures are are swarming. He better win 10 games or he's in trouble. He's in trouble.

Doesn’t help when the media is, and has always been, dog**** down here.

He's always been about bravado sitting at his desk and ripping local sports personalities from a safe distance.

Are u aware of how other programs/coaches deal with the media?

You actually think Mario’s behavior turned Miami media into vultures? Must be a new fan

Opposing fanbases say we are broke quite frequently. FSU claimed we were so broke we borrowed benches from USF to bring up to Tally this year, not realizing that they provided the benches for us.

But yes to all the comments here about the media, because that’s how the Miami media always rolls. Mario isn’t helping the situation.

He’s got two more years of Teflon status from the money that keeps everything up…

Where Mario will lose people will be the stands and excitement is gonna die… two straight seasons of getting people thinking this is finally the payoff from rebuild and he chokes it to double digit dogs.

He’ll never be in trouble as he has a 100% buyout I believe. As to continuing to coach at UM being the definition of what’s at risk if he doesn’t win 10 games, he can lose out this season and he’ll be back next season. If you don’t agree, please tell me at what point do you think the guys who funded his contracted salary will agree to cut him a check for 10’s of millions of dollars to not coach here, and do you think those same guys will then fund the next coach and NIL as well?

Maybe when the lack of winning causes a lack of revenue. Maybe not winning enough causes Miami to no longer be relevant to Big Ten or SEC expansion. Maybe when the program is stuck on the outside looking in and there’s only one chance of fixing it. There’s no guarantee a change will fix the problem, but we can nearly guarantee not making a change will not fix the problem.

Finishing the season on a whimper will not result in momentum into next season. Quite the opposite. I can see staff changes coming, although that seems to happen to every program. I can also foresee a number of outbound transfers. Sure they’ll be replaced by inbound transfers, but they better hit. Sure we had a high ranked portal class last year but what happens with the team sinks to an 8-4 or even a 7-5 finish and a loss in a meaningless December bowl game? A month ago the team was a presumed CFP participant. Today the team is a CFP hopeful reliant upon not only winning out, but needing a number of other teams lose maybe multiple games.

Maybe these wealthy patrons cutting the checks will want something in return more than just another average ACC program.

This may take a couple more disappointing seasons after this one.
