That season was certainly the final straw. Having been skeptical as **** and writing about it for 2 seasons, when the VTech/Duke back-to-back weeks happened, I said the final last grasp was that he'd blow out Louisville with a month to prepare for the bowl game and a bunch of players who should be motivated to show out. Instead, I drove up to Orlando to watch a real disaster.

He should have been let go there. He didn't even seem to want to be here. Sneaking around and whatnot.

We're talking about the worst administration in the country. The scenario you're describing would require a group of decision makers that were somewhat intelligent AND actually cared about the football program.

They'll wait to the last minute..hope he squeezes out 7 or 8 wins and then either try to justify keeping him one more year to save money or they'll make another cheap hire.

Listen iam just as ****ed off as anyone but i believe the BOT will get it right its so much pressure on them to get it right iam just enjoying the golden decline and after jimbo put another whipping on us again this town will be really heating up but i believe they will get it right and i also think Dr.Frenk will be the person who pulls the trigger to fire AL just a feeling.

So let me get this straight, they know Golden is the problem but they won't remove him early based on what? That's idiotic. If cancer is spreading, common sense would say remove the cancer before it kills the patient. Golden is a cancer; kill it before he kills the program. We're already on life support.
 
Donna Shalala hired golden and hid the NCAA. like a typical Liberal, she ducked responsibility. therefore, she handed his firing off to the next administration to save her face.
he got an extra year for the sole fact donna is a snake. She is went to like Wiconsin and syracuse and tried to act like UM was Yale. UM is ranked behind UF now academically. blame her and the idiot who bailed for Nebraska.

I don't. They haven't gotten anything right in over 10 years.

They are the most incompetent board of trustees in all of college football.

I agree with you, but for some reason in college football you rarely see a coach fired in mid season. The quicker you fire him, the quicker we can look for his replacement. UF fired Zook in mid season and landed Meyer before anyone else could.

He may very well be the "best sportswriter in South Florida" but it's not like that bar is very high.

To those of you who have faith in the BOT, my question is why? These a-holes are the biggest problem right now. They extended Coker for no good reason, then they hired an under qualified Shannon and extended him, accepted money from a ponzi schemer, then they hired a guy who had a losing record from a MAC school who never won a bowl and then extended him after a 6-6 season that was full of upperclassmen. Long story short, the BOT is not worthy of any trust. My concern right now is not firing Golden obviously he is going to be fired because they have no choice. The donor money is drying up. My concern is who they are going to hire as his successor. Do they finally open the wallet and save their program or do they do the typical UM thing and play it safe and cheap and make a sissy hire like chudzinski, Cristobal, or Schiano. I think, unfortunately, it will be the latter based on their inept reputation.
