Banner

When we win, I can just see those who donated stomping around like the petulant children they are.

I'm all for spending your money however you want and realize Golden isn't ever going to be the coach we want that'll lead us to anything worth a ****. Having said that, looking at what the season holds, he's looking on paper that he'll be around for another season. Flying banners won't change that and makes a segment of the fan base look foolish.

Tell that to the Texas fans. 1 banner = 1 fired Athletic Director

As if that had anything to do with it. Coaching changes and athletic department changes are almost always made for one simple reason, when the real money says "Enough." Joe Jamail says "Patterson or me." and Patterson is gone.

Texas Longhorns fire athletic director Steve Patterson

Interesting excerpt:

Fenves told reporters that Patterson's exit has been in the works for several weeks, but that no one issue or incident led to the move.

"If I had to put it in a nutshell," Fenves said, "we're concerned about our fans and how they view the program."

Patterson's departure came three days after a plane carrying a "Patterson Must Go" banner circled the football stadium before the Longhorns' first home game of the season against Rice.

"Athletics is vitally important to the Longhorn nation," Fenves said in the news release. "For many, athletics is the front door to the university. The excellence and integrity of our program shines a bright light on all we do. Mike Perrin will solidify strong relationships with and among our student-athletes, faculty, students, alumni and coaches, building morale for student-athletes and staff.

I particularly like how you didn't bold the key phrase that "Patterson's exit has been in the works for several weeks..."

Yeah, it was all because of the banner.

Joe Rose and his boyfriends were ripping the banner and those flying it (they think it's one guy) this morning.

Both stations are ripping it. Donno spent 30minutes ranting about it. Blow up Joes switchboard with calls

Whatever. These same clowns are discounting the banner, but cant stop talking about it. Who is controlling the narrative now?

Seems to me the overarching issue is the first bolded portion. I also bolded the banner part because, well, this is a thread about banners.

Joe Rose and his boyfriends were ripping the banner and those flying it (they think it's one guy) this morning.

I listen to college sports radio on Sirius all day, and every show discussed the banner. None of them thought it was a joke. They were even discussing replacements for Folden. Sadly, Butch Davis is a cohost on Jack Myroot's show but had internet issues this week and couldn't be on the show.

National guys see Folden as a dead man, but, strangely, UM's radio station and their dopey shills and the local loser media think he's solid.

Zero doubt it's received attention, embarrassed the administration, and let our voice be heard.

You still can't expect the retards running our program to necessarily act cause...well....there's a reason they're the worst administration in the country. With that said the three points I listed above alone made the banners worth it.

Let's go Huskers.

These above the fray pussies on here make it seem like fans have no voice. Smart schools listen when fans speak en masse. Look at Michigan and Texas. ****, even shalala stated publicly that she fired her boy Shannon because of the fans.

Keep flying the unfriendly skies, boys!! Gas 'em up!

Atlanta radio mentioned it today, and I've brought it up when I've called in to Chattanooga's ESPN radio show. Like you say, sadly, the "hometown" station is toeing the company line.

even Joe Rose segued from "the banner guy is a dbag" to "who would be the right replacement....Cristobal, Chud, Schiano..?"

so even if the commentators don't agreed with the banner, it still generates the right conversation

The radio guys are threatened that there's another voice out there that aren't "radio personalities".

**** them. If they think banners are stupid then their radio programs are just as dumb. Since all the banners are is opinions being publicly broadcast.

Thanks to OZAR's efforts, it looks like we already have money towards banner #4 .

Edit: also gotta give a shout out to DYCANE

For the banners to be ineffective, I see 14 pages here alone, it's on talk radio, and it's clearly ****ing off the Administration.

You see, the squeaky wheel is the one that gets the grease.

How do you know it's ****ing off the administration? Where's the evidence that suggests as much for you to make that claim?

Manny Navarro said:
Hurricanes athletic director Blake James didn’t have much to say when he was asked by the Miami Herald about the “Fire Al Golden” banner that flew over the stadium about two hours before kickoff Saturday afternoon.

In fact, he only had two words. “Come on,” James said before turning and walking away.
?Fire Golden? banner not a distraction for Miami Hurricanes | Miami Herald
It's not much in the way of proof, but it seems like Blake was annoyed by it if it cause him to walk away immediately.

Do you need proof that the sun will rise tomorrow too?

I'm sure the administration loves the public humiliation the banners are bringing them. But until Frenk comes out and says it publicly it's not true.

Folden isn't bothered by the banners either. That fat blob wouldn't look up again if he was stranded on a remote island and heard a small plane buzzing overhead.
