Assistant coaches taking promotional jobs is a sign of a successful head coach. Manny must be doing something right. :dr-evil:

I don’t get what they see to be honest. I guess they really want you to their recruiting.

How does he answer UNC and getting worked in the first half by OSU? If he says I wasn’t making the calls or it’s not my defense or Manny and Baker didn’t implement my suggestions then how do you hire this guy as a DC when he was co-dc for the worst defensive performance in school history?

It has to be primarily the recruits...like look at my safety class and other non safeties I have recruited

They must hope the talent he can bring in helps with play calls and schemes.

Rumph will fill the recruiting void left by Banda.

Is Ed a viable replacement candidate? Does Manny fire Baker and Rumph (among others), takes over as DC, and makes Ed co-DC and safeties coach?
Yeah, I'm sure that's what the cigar chomping, fedora wearing, scotch drinking, R&B vibing, live streaming Ed Reed wants to be doing...sweating it out on Greentree all year as safeties coach. Why the **** would give up his current job, where he is idolized and doesn't really have to produce things on a daily basis to being a position coach and possibly the target of criticism and souring fan relations if things don't go well? It would take millions and the highest paid position coach in the NCAA for him to take that hypothetical job.

Pretty sure they don’t even allow alcohol in Utah, so the bartender jokes will probably stop.

They have some funny laws on it, but do allow. There used to be a law called the Zion Curtain where restaurants that served alcohol had to have a separate room with a curtain that bartenders had to go behind to prepare any drinks.

No it wasnt. The disussion was that "he misses" as much as Rumph and wasnt even that good of a recruiter. It was used as a deflection and shield for how bad of a recruiter Rumph is. They also combined it with Rumph coaches safeties as well.
Supposed insiders was saying rumph was helping banda with the safeties

Lol no sh*t he was a db coach as well. They should all "help" each other.
Yea they were trying to prop that up to make him look more so as a need..because they know Rumph is a terrible recruiter...so then we started hearing he was a x's and o coach and a "cb whisperer" lol

I wouldn’t say a cb whisperer but I think he is a solid coach. He just doesn’t bring much on the trail.

What’s hold up? No official announcements and this been circulating since middle December.

I'll be quite frank, I have no idea what the criteria is for hiring football coaches. Guys fail and get re-hired into better jobs in the football coaching industry regularly. I honestly have no idea what hiring managers see.
