Bama vs Clemson

S&C took a huge and I mean huge step forward these past two years. That being said it still needs more huge and I mean huge steps forward to do what we want on the field. Losing is bad enough but when you get dominated up front it fells far and I mean far worse.

STEP FORWARD? Do you understand all year people wonder if we "were going to be physical" vs so and so? Our guys should be able to sleepwalk and still physically manhandle Duke, Syracuse, Pitt. Don't let 1 game on a special night vs ND fool you. I honestly believe no one was beating us that night vs ND, NO ONE.

Ok....so how was he able to start 15/15 then since you know that answer.

B/c we have one of the worst 3rd down defenses in football? Bc our DC has never fielded an elite defense, and his defense this year is par for the course for what his career has been? B/C our blitzes stink? Bc we don't tackle well? B/C our LBs have regressed and cant cover at all? B/c our DBs are poorly coached by a HS corch and a glorified office staffer? B/c the staff targeted Delaney as a transfer, and they massively whiffed on their evaluation?

This wasn't a "unique to the Clemson game" issue. Keep slurping bro! All slurping does is delay the inevitable. We hired UGAs trash and they are better than ever.

Don't know wether to cry or laugh but it's true our DBs are coached by a HS corch and a glorified staffer, former bartender.Neither is close to good enough to be in charge of DBs by themselves and we wonder why elite cbs are hesitant to come play for them.

You say High School corch, I say First Round Draft pick and National Championship winner.

This is true, yet elite cbs are wiping their *** with that resume.

It's why everyone clamouring to have Ed Reed as our 10th coach is fooling themselves. He has nothing to prove in the game of football - what does he want with 60 hour working weeks when he's a multi-millionaire and HOF bound?

Mike Rumph is a very good technical coach. From what I can gather he treats these kids like they're adults - which is why we've recruited the certain personalities we have at DB under him. He has nothing to prove in football either so he's not going to grovel / kiss the **** of a 17 year old kid and tell them they're the world's greatest just to get them through the door.

When we get Richt's guys through the door and the conveyor belt starts I think we WILL be sleepwalking through a lot of conference games. Just look at Donaldson, Reed, Scaife et al blocking for Lingard et al. There's only going to be a few teams a season on our schedule that will be able to handle that.

Maybe, maybe not.

If he gets Jackson, Young et al drafted and he builds a reputation as a guy that gets you in the league then his style of recruiting will chime with the right recruits. Everyone doesn't have to be a James Coley sleazeball.

Bama’s whole team has to be on steroids right?

Every dude on the field for them is ripped out of their mind, even the DTs

UGA looked similar

If not, we need a new S&C coach ASAP

They recruit big kids though too guys who have that frame for added muscle, Jobe is a well built kid already even though hes 65 years old. Scarbrough was already big Trent was big Julio was big, **** when we got Andre Johnson he was pretty big.

And those big guys put on 30 lbs and are somehow even more athletic than when they were lighter. They’ve recruited some skinny guys that look inflated now. Ridley is the skinniest guy on their team but he is much bigger than I would’ve ever thought looking at his hs pics.

It's blatant that their players are on something - they look like NFL Blitz characters. It's also why a lot of them flop in the pros - they're maxed physically at 20.

Whereas most college players when drafted will improve physically as well as mentally. Alabama guys have nowhere to go.

The narrative that Bama players bust in the league is just false. They had some pretty bad busts at first with fat *** Cody and R Mclain but otherwise they have been pumping out quality NFL players. Not us in the early 2000s but some good players. Even players that were considered busts like Ingram have turned it around.

There is no maybe about it. If his sense of self worth and ego get in the way of an elite recruit that could have helped us, he is a detriment to this team. At least if he can't turn that sleaze on when necessary.

Someone with that mentality is not designed for the college level where recruiting is so important. That is for the professional level.

Well he better start doing so.. those elite 17 yr olds is how you keep a job in College football. Either that or continue to get carved up by average QBs.

Awesome another SEC vs SEC championship bc the crooked conference just gets to keep winning.

bama is the best team but they should of never got in, u have to win that conference man it has to mean something

The purpose of the playoff is to put the best 4 teams in, not whomever wins their conference. It obvious Bama is much better than the ACC champs.

Clemson doesn't even look like a shadow of the Clemson team that played in the ACC Championship game. From the opening whistle they looked flat and almost disinterested. I can't make heads or tails of their offensive game plan...it seemed as though they were throwing hands full of **** at a wall each series to see if anything would stick...it didn't! Bryant looked as though he was playing a game that was always two clicks ahead of his reactions. Bama can do all of the above to teams, but Clemson simply looked like they were not prepared to pay the price to be a championship team. Had they made half the effort they gave in the game with the Canes tonight's result would have been markedly different.

They were hyped to throw upside down "U" and to put on fake turnover chains, but you could tell they had nothing for Bama. Besides Deion Cane, Clemson was out running on fumes.

As the trophies were being handed out after Bama's win the camera showed Saban studying the stats from tonight's game...the man is a machine!

“Guys Clemson is the best team in the world thats why they curbstomped us!”

So much for that.

Kelly Bryant was Joe Montana against us. Tonight? Miserable.

It was just a matter of time before some nimrod posted that bullshyt. Now we can enjoy a barrage of...Clemson really isn't a good team and Richt and Diaz made them look much better than they truly are...they will also work in a few shots at Rosier.

Clemson is an elite team.

But their QB is not, and he was part of the "looks like Tom Brady against No D ***" parade.

Well there you have it...Clemson is an elite team, but it still comes down to Miami is a bad this or that or everything. Just like clockwork...

No one cares about the Rumph's reputation if he put out a group of CBs that can't cover Pitt's WRs, Wisconsin's WR, UVa's WRs when those recruits watch them on TV or live... You think Campbell is itching to play for Rumph after we not only struggled to cover Wisconsin's WR but looked like a poorly coached group with the lack of heads turned when the ball was in the air? Is Campbell is choosing Miami because Rumph put Corn Elder into the league or that Michael Jackson might get drafted? No.

Kids are looking at 2 things really: Development and Winning.

You build a reputation when your group is always considered the best group in CFB or they pump future pro bowlers at an alarming rate.

There was talk last year (I think) of Alabama players **** talking the Michigan State players during the game, chiding them for running the wrong route on the play - so well drilled were they about what Michigan St were running.

That's the competitive advantage you have when you have a legion of staff members pouring over film.

Clemson don't run a complex offensive system. It's a lot of smoke and mirrors. They can't out athlete Alabama and Alabama had a month to prepare for it. It's not a suprise they looked clueless.

Yes I do think he sucks as a traditional "Omg, you're the bestest thing since sliced bread. Come and be a savage with savages, fam" recruiter.

I get the impression that the type of player we're targeting at Miami doesn't respond well to that approach. I mean we have a few family members of recruits on the board, maybe they can chime in about it.

We'll see how it pans out, maybe you guys will get your wish and we'll get in a full time recruiter as the DB coach and hope the guys can coach themselves to the league.

Reality is that there aren't many programs in college football that have had to pick themselves up off the mat after 15 years of bad recruiting and coaching. Can any of you name some? The decline started the day after Butch Da Gaaaaawd left. Larry Cokehead didn't know his *** from a hole in the ground when it came to recruiting, Wandy Shannon torched recruiting brides all over Florida, and what can be said about Al Golden that hasn't been said about Afghanistan? It stops being just needing a couple good recruiting classes- when you are bad that long the foundations become rotten and it basically becomes a tear down situation. Richt has his work cut out for him. No shame in losing to the #1 and #6 team. The shame was losing that Pitt game because some of saw it coming a mile away. No giant turkey dinners next year before a big game, coach.
