Bama Switching QBs

Even Peewee ain't happy

I can’t lie, that was some funny *****. Little Nicky knows that it ain’t looking good for him and his squad this season.

This is why I always say that coaching and scheming DEFINITELY matters. You can have all the talent in the world, but when you’re playing against other really talented squads you better have great coordinators and game day coaching, or you’re fugged.

No you are as usual....hence Krazy Cane...

@SWFLHurricane , not trying to insert myself here. And maybe I got this wrong. But on @DMoney 's pregame podcast, I thought I heard Danny say the plan was to shirt both Williams and Brown, and they were waiting to use Brown in packages in the big games. Feels like a genuine competition still.

Also, I hope I don't get a lot of hate for this because I've never said anything bad about Williams before, always liked him as a recruit and now player. But he wasn't lights out yesterday at all. Yes he was accurate and led us on a couple drives. But he stared down receivers, floated a couple of passes that would have been picked against better opponents (like Jacurri faced last year), and took too long to process plays. Kid needs time to cook. Not Jake Garcia bad, Emroy does have the right raw materials. Still, no F-ing way would I want him to be our starter next season based on what I saw last night.

I think Milroe is better if they used him as a run first QB this guy from ND is trash. The only thing that might save them is that the only thing they need from their QB position for 95% of their games is just not to turn it over, so I'm assuming that is what Saban is thinking
Perhaps less turnovers, but a lower ceiling with the new QB. Bama couldn't run the ball against Texas outside of Milroe. 107 yards on 35 carries and Milroe had 44 yards. Now, there's no threat of running the ball from the QB position and there OL isn't as good as past seasons.

I think Alabama will take a step back with the QB change from a production standpoint.

Just can't give up on Jacurri. We've had so many bad staphs, that we forget that good staffs develop players. This is year 1 with a real staff. Let's give the staff a chance to see if Jacurri can be coached up.
He was always a multi year project, alot of these young qbs have private coaching and are in qb friendly pass happy systems giving them many reps, from what we have heard from Jacurri mouth he didnt get any of that and his coach just ran him majority of time because he was a sledgehammer against high school kids..

Listen to his freshman interviews, he himself knew he needed ALOT of work and didnt expect to play coming into a qb room with 2 qbs in front of him, he wasnt expected for atleast 2 years before showing anything, we had to force him in fire because we had nothing else.. now people want to discard based off premature exposure? Doesnt seem right, not saying he will hit because qb alone is crapshoot but like you mentioned some true development might put odds more in his favor..

You know what, I'm not even going to debate who's the better QB. But I'll say this. Milroe is extremely good at throwing the deep passes.... Brown is not. In fact, we haven't seen anything Brown is extremely good at. The end.

Inaccuracy is a very difficult issue to fix for a QB. Can it be done, yes. But Jacurri is gonna have to work harder than he ever has in his life to improve to the level where he would be comfortable as a pocket passer.

This was the same argument I and others made when we didn’t want Sitkowski, and others before him that we’ve recruited. When a QB has a low passing percentage in high school, it’s almost always not a good sign.

As I’ve said before, I hope that he proves all of us doubters wrong, and that he becomes an incredible player for us (and then in the NFL), at QB. He’s a great young man, and super athletically gifted, but the odds are against him doing so.

I'm not buying it....From former players like @Brooklyndee to Kosar, to every coach imaginable have said, Emory is that guy. Kosar wouldn't shut up about him. He's 3 times the student of the game than Jacurri....you can't drag him outta the film room. NO social media...NO partying...and a ball that jumps out of his hand. I'm not hating on Jacurri...but Emory is that Dude.

Give me game proof that Jacurri can throw outside of Greentree please. And if he can why is he possibly taking a shirt and and backing up a true freshman who actually can throw. Riddle me that.
Because he wanted to redshirt last year and they burned it for no reason. He’s not delusional, he knows his development will take time and he’s willing to put the work in.

Jacurri just has to become an above average thrower and he’ll be a star. I’ll always bet on a great athlete at qb in cfb, develop and put him in the right system and he’ll suceed.

This isn’t the nfl, u don’t need to be peyton level accuracy to be a good qb in college.

That isn’t a fair statement. We didn’t see deep balls in last year’s offense. I’d put that on Gattis + offensive line play. TVD also didn’t throw deep last year and that’s not consistent with what we saw from him in Lashlee and Dawson’s offense. We really don’t know anything about Jacurri’s deep ball.
