Bama in...we get Wisconsin in the OB

Best case scenario was Wisconsin. No type of passing game with a decent defense.

Not so sure about that. They do enough crazy stuff on offense with the misdirection, etc. that they will likely give our defense fits. And we won't score much on them. This actually isn't a great outcome in my opinion but it will still be fun to have another home game.

I think it gives us a better chance to win over Bama or OSU, so it’s probably the best outcome we could ask for.

Not to mention this will be the first time Miami will be playing all season with actual rest. 11 straight weeks of ball clearly have taken it's toll.

It'll be a fun game.

That is awesome . We would of lost to bama but if we get healthy we beat Wisky . So important to go into a championship run ( a real one not this year where we had too many holes) with a bowl win to propel us. I went crazy when Bama got in as I knew it meant we got Wisky instead due to this. Also I hate OSU.

Nope. Absolutely wrong, just like the annually inept conventional wisdom toward preseason ratings. Correct move to put Alabama in. This season is the glaring reason there is no legitimate argument in expanding the field from 4 teams to 8. Ohio State and JT Barrett had atrocious losses by 15 to Oklahoma and 31 at Iowa but that was a rarity in terms of teams seriously contending for the final four. If you are looking at 8 teams every season then you'll always have teams with that type of garbage resume sneaking in, like USC this season with the massacre defeat at Notre Dame along with a loss to pathetic Mike Leach.

As I posted last week, there is no reputable oddsmaker or talent evaluator in the world who wouldn't have Alabama among the top 4 teams. If you told me prior to the season that Alabama would lose only once I would never believe they could be excluded. It was only the bunched injuries and timing of the defeat that placed them in jeopardy.

I fare well because last week I took 14/1 on Alabama winning the national title. It is extreme value and I wouldn't have regretted the bet even if Wisconsin had won and knocked Alabama out, or if Ohio State had gotten the nod. In some generic online listings Alabama remained the favorite for the championship despite the loss to Auburn. But it was hardly true from sportsbook to sportsbook. Some scared joints kept Alabama low in the 4/1 or 5/1 range but others moved Alabama into double digits. I saw 12/1 and 13/1 and then a friend of mine found 14/1 so we played. I believe I mentioned the 14/1 here.

This is also a benefit to the Canes because Alabama would have physically destroyed and further exposed Miami in the Orange Bowl.
