Charlie Strong hired as Bama analyst

Stuff like this is why limiting head coaching salaries is totally pointless. 'Bama has enough money that they're probably working on reincarnating Bear Bryant at this point to use him in an analyst role.
 
The one thing I'm not sure why we haven't figured out is how to use "analysts" to our advantage. I guess its because their required salaries are so low we cannot attract anyone to fill the position? The analysts are essentially coaches for when the real coaches aren't allowed to talk to the players, and then an extra set of eyes for when they can talk to the coaches but not the players.
It's a loophole that exists around the NCAA limiting the number of coaches. Why aren't we doing it?
Hopefully that makes sense, I am heavily medicated atm.

Yes Bama pays well.

But however you feel about these retreads....they are vacant upstairs & you cannot deny that they were successful in their fields at some time in the past.

Adding experience to your staff is usually a positive that has little downside

Money, they have a **** ton, we don't. We have analysts, but they're glorified grad assistant with one exception, Reed. He's more than that, but he'll play that role as well.

I was a little tongue-n-cheek but the truth is that doing time with Saban seems to be like the required apology turn when a public type screws up. You go the the mountain top and then get new HC job. Smart on Saban's part for sure. he picks brains and like it or not gets extra coaches than allowed. Of course they get paid but you can see why they might pay for the change. It is like getting another degree to enhance your job prospects.

Saban is never satisfied and realizes that you must continuously seek to improve... himself and his team .

No matter what others think ..I admire that quality

You watch CFB? Strong made his bones as a DC. His signature win when he was at Louisville and they beat Florida. With Strong there and if he transitions to a DC they will be a nightmare on that side of the ball. It’s ok, I f*uck up some times too.
