Dude, Coach L took over the program in 2011. He had immediate success. Those bad years were later and ya'll certainly wanted him gone. Stop lying.
every word i typed is 100% truth and accurate and provable. I wasn't addressing 2011 or other ideas you have in your disagreeable misguided mind.

Then Coach L is responsible for those bad years. That's my point. He was the one who was HC. And that's why the fan base back then wanted him gone. The dude couldn't finish above .500 or higher than 11th in the ACC. He was as bad as Mario.

You're missing his point, dude. The OP is claiming how much he loves Coach L, and the guy you're responding to is simply pointing out that the fan base didn't think to much of Larranaga just several years ago. I think Mario has certainly ****ed **** up but I also believe he should be given time to build his program. Those two things can be true at the same time. And FYI, every fan base ***** on their ****** coaches.
Both things are true. He is a good coach. And he didn’t deserve to be thought highly of in those 3 years. Let’s be honest, most respectable programs don’t let a coach do what L did and survive it. One bad year is fine, two is a problem, but three is a fireable offense. No matter who you are and what you’ve done.

And the difference between L and Mario is that L has done it here. Mario hasn’t.

Yeah, there was a little issue in the past, Coach L's version of Golden's "cloud"
It was significantly larger than a cloud. It scared recruits off for YEARS, it was also borderline impossible to get decent transfers to come in either. Not an accident that Miami went from going to the Tournament and being a last second buzzer beater away from going on another S16 run the year before, to the bottom falling out. A lot of our fans, most of whom barely recognized the program existed thought that L forgot how to coach and manage the program in 1 year. For us that knew what had happened, we knew full well it was going to take time to rebuild. L had to suffer through years, develop the guys that did come and hope that eventually he could get recruiting back on track. That's exactly what happened, and now when you look at the program, the momentum that had been there before the charges has been recaptured.

You can tell the people that were rocking with the program, and those that weren't, because those that were paying attention knew that those seasons were the perfect storm of crap happening, not a failure of leadership. Those teams weren't deep(Tough to get bodies in when people thought your program was going to get destroyed), and they also had some of the worst injury luck ever. Lots of close losses, lots of games in which Miami ran out of gas late, because the team lacked significant depth. Amazing what happened when decent transfers started considering Miami again, guys like McGusty, guys like Charlie Moore(A PG that our fanbase thought was a pure scrub coming in).
