It's terrible right now and is actually, slowly killing the sport. On the other hand, I don't remember there ever being a time when this much media scrutiny on it. Also, let us not forget that this is not only an NCAA violation, but more importantly, a federal crime against the IRS. You cannot accept that much cash without claiming it and when you claim it, of course, it will be revealed who it came from and why. So, this isn't just a silly college thing, this is an actual crime.

Eventually, there will be enough smoke that the bag men and these bull donors will run for the hills and these short-sighted kids and their families will have to find other incentives for selecting a school to play at.

It’s not the 80s anymore, do kids and families get some cash here and there? Yes. But it’s not enough for the irs to care about. The truly large payments are not just a sack of cash dropped on a door step. They are being made to “legitimate businesses” or “invested” into real property. Harder to have personal tax liability, and it’s synonymous to if you ever sold a car or boat, maybeeee on the title you put less than the true value of the purchase. You still pay tax but not as much as you should and good luck trying to prove that true amount.

Concerning the boosters as far as they are concerned they are donating to legitimate not for profits that in all likelihood do actually give money to their intended purpose and a portion goes towards paying players/their families. It would take one **** of a whistleblower to blow it up.

No there won't.
And, the Berlin Wall will never come down, and the Cubs will never win the series, and the Patriots will never win a Super Bowl... All that stuff is true until it isn't. If there is increased media scrutiny, something will break. Again, forget the NCAA, this is the IRS, and to quote Vader, "The Emperor is not as forgiving as I am."

Too much revenue that the sport brings in to negate the care for recruits being paid.

Have you not been following college basketball? Dropping bags forever and everyone knows it

Bro do you realize how much money the playoff is generating? They want Bama there every year, no sanction is going to come and if it was it would have happend years ago Bama has been doing this for like the last 10 years consistently.

Man they’ve had kids go on HBO and describe about how much money they got and their teammates got...nothing done.

Multiple articles written in national publications out Kids ,handlers and parents..nothing done.

NCAA doesn’t care.If they come down on selected schools it will open up a can of worms they won’t be able to close back up because no school is going down alone and they don’t want this for their cash cow.

Heard anything about the BB IRS scandal lately ????? Didn’t think so.Either have I.

College football is huge business, and nobody wants to rock that boat.

The FBI knows what u search on Google, u think they don't know what's going on in college athletics? I don't buy it. I'm under the impression that schools like Bama are in cahoots with the NCAA. if they weren't, this would have been investigated a long time ago. It's not like it's a secret. The average CF fan knows about bagmen.
