Avery Huff portal

I didn’t realize we had so many English teachers on this site.

I just wish the guy good luck and good hunting in finding the right fit as far as school goes, and leave it at that.

I just think he got a raw deal in terms of the right type of coach (Manny Diaz) to develop a raw prospect as a linebacker, but whatever happens, I wish him a long and healthy life.

He also couldn’t put the weight on to play the position. Can’t play LB when your barely 200 lbs as a 4th year guy.

Some people just have a hard time putting weight on, but I don’t ever think he was taught well enough to be an impact player. I don’t want to blame him.

I don’t know. Kid looked the part to me in all the summer and fall highlights of practices. It wasn’t physicality holding him back. He just couldn’t make it translate into on field achievement.

Best of luck to him wherever he lands. Hope he got his degree and will find success and happiness.

Da stewdent athlete thang wint out da window years ago. Univercities and the NCAA care only about genrating money. Most of the stewdent athletes culdn’t sniff a college campuss if they culdn’t jenerate tv money fer the skool.
Really? The uneducated athlete thing went out of the window a long time ago. You have businessmen like LeBron/Wade, Von Miller, Ray Lewis/Ed Reed, and the list goes on and on. These kids definitely are there to be athletes before students (which we agree on) but this bad level of communication is expected of a high school sophomore athlete-student, not a college player that has been around for 4 years. This is shameful.

No need to bash these young transferring Canes. Things didn’t work out for them at Miami on the football field so let’s just wish them well as they look to continue their football and academic careers.

As long as they don’t become a gator or semenhole.

Serious question. If he had stayed committed to Michigan and ended up there, would they have found a role for him in the starting 11 by his Jr. year?

Maybe. But Charlie Strong had him this season and it still didn’t click. We were seriously hurting for players too. Hope he lands somewhere where he does well.

special teams player, not a problem....never was taught much in high school as he played all over the place there. Came to Um probably closer to 180-185 pds...never could put on enough weight or get enough game reps at the spot...played all special teams though and was genuinely happy about it. Unlike guys like Avantae Williams that spent the year on special teams trying to bait guys or getting personal fouls out of boredom.

Thats my lil homie hope he picks a school that he is a scheme fit and can get game reps. He should go group of 5.

Definitely showed effort through special teams and brought it every chance he got, even when he didn’t get any LB reps…..I respect that from him. I think he should go to a school that runs a 3-3-5 and he fits into a rover spot where it’s between a LB and safety role and it gives more of an opportunity for him to run around and be the seeking missile he is without it costing the defense too much.

Nothing wrong with being a good career special teams player.
