We were ranked 25th in the country but games were at 98 percent capacity. But other fan bases still try to run with the narrative that our fans don’t show up

because that is tickets "sold" not butts in seats, so they see the gap on the screen. to be fair though they dont really account for the fact our fans also dont get in ahead of kickoff to fill it right away and often it's people taking pics during warmups as if they say it is the game.

as usual truth is somewhere in between

I was at those games. They did not. This was a great year for attendance but that's because we had a really good home schedule.

This year's schedule is pretty terrible BUT as long as we keep winning people will show up.
 
****... I stopped following the NFL a while ago and before I did, I followed the Commanders who had 90K+ capacity at the time. Now I see that they only fit ~68K which is right about the NFL average. I knew that many of the biggest college stadiums (Michigan, PSU, Tenn, etc) were bigger than most NFL stadiums, but did not realize that so many college stadiums were bigger than the average NFL stadium and that the avg NFL stadium was that small.

As someone else pointed out... these numbers are almost certainly based on tickets as opposed to actual attendance, but wild to see that even if every seat was full every single game, we would still be so far behind a good amount of the other teams due to the stadium capacity alone.

Now let's due average attendance/student enrollment ratio.
Quick look shows most of those top schools are around 2:1.

Miami is in the top 3 closer to 4:1.

the NFL experience is catered to a more premium experience rather than ****** metal bleachers.

college stadiums are going to move this way too and in effect be forced to reduce capacity.
 
Between our less than stellar schedule, weeknight games (Thursday?? THURSDAY??), and how many season ticket purchases were done strictly to increase the buyer's chance of getting tickets to the Natty, I think we're going to have a problem filling seats, despite our position after last season.
