Pawling (NY) Trinity-Pawling High School DE Austrian Robinson has UM in his top three along with Maryland and Mississippi.

He's taken an official visit to Maryland already (Dec. 6) and is set to visit UM the weekend of Jan. 16 with Mississippi the following weekend.

"I'll take another visit after that (Mississippi trip) to UCF and then will make a decision," Robinson said.

Earlier this month Robinson's mother got an in-home visit from Cane coaches Al Golden and Mark D'Onofrio.

"I'm at a boarding school so they visited her and she said she really liked them, felt comfortable with them," Robinson said.

Robinson says he typically speaks mostly with D'Onofrio and Jethro Franklin.

"They told me how they want me to just come for playing right now, said I can impact the team right now," said Robinson, a 6-foot-5, 270-pounder. "They want me to visit so I can see what they're all about."

He says he's looked at Miami's depth chart and that "it's a good chance to play at my position, which is a key factor for me. And they're known for developing defensive linemen, which is good."

But UM has ground to make up here - Robinson says Maryland has the edge from his top three group.

"It's hard to say how much they're in front," Robinson said. "But they're leading because of how everything felt when I visited there. And they need defensive ends."

He says "once I get to Miami I'll see" where the Canes stand.

Robinson said UM coaches told him he would play defensive end primarily and move inside to defensive tackle in third down situations.

The chance of UM overtaking Maryland and landing him?

"I don't know right now, but it's definitely a high chance," Robinson said.

thought we were transitioning back to a 4-3. why we still taking 3-4 guys? then again they've been saying the same crap the past 2 years.

As someone who played in this league.. I dont understand how we can recruit him but not take a look at Christian Wilkins who is in the same league he is 6'5 305 DT with great grades an has offers from everyone including Alabama....http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Christian-Wilkins-136902. This is where this staff completely loses me..... It makes no sense the kid is an UA all american from the northeast without a miami offer.....

It's simple: the staff has zeroed in on a 2 * DT from NJ. Offers from Alabama... A&M as well as Towson State.

Trust the process!

The $1M question is would /does Wilkins have interest in Miami? I doubt it, so staff is putting their efforts into out of state kids they feel they have at least 60:40 chance to land.

I know many coaches in the conference an some of my old teamates coach there this kid was wide open from the begining look at his visits ohio state boston college stanford clemson, penn state. Everyone in the conference knows this kid is high on private school education an was very open to playing in the south. No offense but in this case trust me I know alot more and its frustrating...

Well then tell the kid to reach out to UM staff they will take his call. Sometimes even the 5* has to chase the girl they may have interest in because she is an ugly duckling at the moment an may not think she has a chance.

I don't get it either, I have always wondered about Wilkins...you would think we would be ALL OVER the kids from that area since there aren't very many of them and the history we have of getting kids from that region.

Might have ****ed off canesfam with this post. He might stop jerking it to Golden's binder to come over here for some pearl clutching.

His buddy Swiss Johnson is supposed to be a solid player, could play offense or defense...doesn't have a firm stance either way.

Thank you, thAnk you, be here all week! Tip your waiter!

Just watched this kids highlights and I was impressed as heck. this kid is really good. He is fast, strong hands, the use of hands is really good. he is def a take for me. his hustle is relentless like AQM's. im hoping we land him.

If you ask Golden we run a "Multiple D" but we are a 3-4 team all the way. Golden just gives what everybody wants him to say.
