ATTRITION

Cager shouldnt be on any attrition list. Rosier as a graduate transfer because I dont see him accepting the bench in his redshirt senior yr after starting for a full season.

Very few players in their 3rd or 4th year are transferring when they are so close to graduating. Only the ones who will graduate this month or in May are gong to leave.

Think of it more from which player(s) might WANT out, to get earlier or more PT. For example, if he remains behind Rosier, Shirreffs and Perry (or even two of these three), I could easily see Weldon wanting to leave for greener pastures.

These threads trashing current players are in very bad taste. Attrition will happen of course but let’s keep it classy.

We've got 25 players on this team rated 4* or better and another 14 committed to coming in, which would give us 39. Now subtract the seniors and juniors we are going to lose and we'll probably be somewhere in the neighborhood of 33-35.

Clemson has 40
UGA has 54
Ohio State has 57
Alabama has 63

Alabama has almost as many 4* and up guys as we do guys total. We need bodies. We need quality bodies to reach the level of our competition, but first we need bodies. We need to be begging everybody to stay who we feel can contribute in any way what-so-ever. It's ******* embarrassing that our leading rusher and most consistent offensive contributor is the cot**** gunner on punts. Almost as embarrassing as fans talking about showing players the door.

I think Miami is roughly at 73 scholarship players... There are only like 9 seniors (Thomas, Berrios, McDermott, Darling, Moten, Herndon, Delaney, Harris, and Badgley)... Walton has declared already... Assuming Mcintosh and Norton go as well that would be 12 more off the 73 to put them at 61.... That still would only like 24 open scholarships... I think Richt will try to guide a few of the mentioned players to transfer so Miami can sign 27-28 guys if possible.... In my opinion Gray, Jones, Fines, and McCray make sense. All have been here multiple years with no production.

They are very close to graduating, will not transfer until they do.

why would we cut people when we have 73 man roster out of 85.... if they want to leave they will but outright cutting them creates more depth issues. (thanks shapiro and golden)

We'll just cut everybody who's not a starter, take 53 kids this cycle and everything will be back to normal.

Easy answer - dead weight. Besides, with 73, we don’t have a big senior clsss (<10) so if there ever was a year to clean our dead weight without really losing depth, this is the year. With our senior clsss and attrition, we will probably lose close to 16. If we bring in a recruiting class of 25/27, that takes us right back up to low 80s.

I’d rather have talented freshmen getting the scout team reps versus 3rd/4th year guys who we know will never contribute meaningful minutes.

I trust Richt knows what he’s doing in managing the numbers.

Some of the guys they want to push out are four stars. Stars don't necessarily mean much.
