They need to sell out only the lower level like USF does in Tampa or something. The attendance on TV looked to be 500 people. I was watching with UF alumni. The gators were 80% full at halftime and after the mass exodus still had 30X more fans in the stands. Something needs to happen to get butts in the seats or at least fool people better. Top 10 freaking team….. ridiculous

In an ideal world for these games only sell the lower levels I agree.

I also feel like the school or stadium could do more to help the pregame experience and make it a full day instagramy event for people. Something like a giant Oktoberfest-esque tent set up in one or two of the lots for shade, with food vendors and places to hang.

You could have helped the visual by showing up with your friends?

Sure, it was a long night at the stadium but those of us who went didn't have to worry about how to watch the game once the ACC Network cut the feed
 
people compare living in Alabama vs Miami for where to go... **** go to a home game.. id rather player for a sold-out stadium than at Miami.. I was telling my wife how embarrassing it is as we sat at the game... by halftime the stadium was a ghost town.... then to add to it.. our cooler got robbed of all the waters/soda's after the game.. even stole my wife's Publix buffalo dip that was opened lol...

when recruits show up you wanna see that place packed shoulder to shoulder and you see huge sections with no one in them in the Lower bowl...

The lightning delay didn't help.. Hopefully for the Friday night game vs VT its packed.

I don’t think you can compare last nights delayed game to anything. That delay was very long. The parking was packed and I imagine without that delay the stadium would have been a lot more crowded than it was.
Attendance after half was bad but many had to leave - other plans, young children which there were a lot.
Theft- wouldn’t leave my stuff out at any game.
Been going to Auburn games for years. Last five years stadium has been lackluster when losing and after half if winning if it is a lower opponent. Students there are now docked points for getting tickets if they leave early - ticket scan to leave and log that they were there and when they left. Theft happened there and window broken on car against UGa and stuff stolen.
I think conference games are a much better atmosphere and should be for VaTech. It won’t fill in until 2nd qtr because of work traffic. Miami is Miami and always has been. Heck some of our top players were at Middle Tennessee game as recruits.
 
I understand it was only Ball st, but if ppl don’t show up when tickets are dang near free then when will they. We have a legit Heisman Trophy contender, an exciting offense to go with said player, and a defense that’s playing great without it’s best player, and apparently that’s still not enough to make it to games???
 
The whole “sell out the lower bowl” makes no sense. Most of the seats in the lower bowl ARE sold. They’re mostly owned by season ticket holders. Now if someone buys season tickets but doesn’t show up for every game or more importantly LEAVES DURING A 2.5 HOUR LIGHTNING DELAY, those seats will be empty. You can’t just let everyone who bought a cheap seat go sit in the expensive seats because the people who actually own those tickets could show up at any point and you know, want to sit in their seats. I went to the FAMU game and attendance was probably the best I’ve ever seen for an FCS opponent.

Also, remember that while you’re sitting at home watching the game on TV and complaining about attendance (ironic, don’t you think?) that the people at the game are likely getting doused with rain. Even under the overhang, the rain blows in at angles and gets most of the lower level sections wet. So while you’re at a 62-0 game with rain falling on you, you might just get up from your seat and go out on the concourse to have a drink and not get rained on while watching the blowout football game on one of the monitors. I know I’ve done that a bunch of times.

What tickets are “**** near free?” I paid $24 per seat plus fees to sit in the upper deck for FAMU. Not to mention another $25 for a parking pass. There were a few tickets available online in the $17-20 range in the corners but nobody is getting $5 tickets for these games.

I used game time and there were plenty of tickets going for 1-8 dollars in the upper bowl, along the side lines and not just the corners. The lowest I seen in the lower started at $11. The fees and parking pass suck but thats to be expected.
 
It was a sleeper game against Ball St. with a massive rain delay so that played a major factor. Beyond that, I just don’t see the point of beating this dead horse week after week, year after year. Hard Rock is never going to be The Shoe, Bryant-Denny, Tiger Stadium, and on and on. It is what it is. In my opinion, the stadium experience is mostly for the fans anyways. The three most important things to these kids is winning, NIL deals, and getting to the league. Playing in front of a sellout crowd every week is like icing on the cake. As long as we continue to win(which we are) and recruiting isn’t effected by it(which it isn’t) then there’s no since worrying about it. In an ideal world they would have never torn down the OB. In an ideal world we’d be able to build a small, on-campus stadium. This is the current situation we’re left with though, and honestly, if the team keeps playing like this I’m good.
 
I thought going in this was going to be our smallest crowd of the year and I watched several people in my section alone dip before kickoff after all the delays. After halftime it was a full blown ghost town.

Not sure if you're young or not but it's been this way since we started the program. Even in our NC 2001 year it was really bad for some home games. Plus there was a 2 1/2 hour delay and the stadium kept telling people to evacuate their seats.

I wish every day they didn't tear down the OB. But it was no different there except that the OB held more people so when we played little schools it looked even more empty. 🤷‍♂️
 
you do realize there was a 3 hour lighting delay? Went to the va tech night game in 2017 that place was sold out and rocking. Don’t worry you’ll see after usf.

The hard rock gets packed for games that matter. If you want to be mad at anyone blame the prior administration for scheduling.
