Attendance Numbers

There were def 50k+ in attendance. Enthusiasm was good but the game was pretty methodical so the crowd never hit max volume.

The move the chains announcement is super annoying and needs to be gone yesterday.

Thinking and hoping this will be a fun year.
Glad someone said it... The "mooove them chains" call was BRUTAL.

I bet 25k in the seats at kickoff and 32k by mid first.

I wish it was different but I have ZERO faith in our fans showing for a Noon game against Southern Miss and any double fans who also have Dolphins tickets for the following day likely won’t do both across the board.

I’ll be honest this is where I was hoping Rado would have more aggressive community outreach ideas for games like this or just tarp the **** out of that upper deck

Judging by how many seats are still available on the UM site, coupled with how cheap tickets are going for on StubHub, the crowd will be very sparse tomorrow. I think we will be lucky to draw 35k. These September afternoon games against garbage teams will never draw well.

This.

What happened to the simple but effective “… for another Miami first down “?

Also, the game show approach and loudness of the “host“ during breaks is really not that fun and doesn’t move anything along nor make for good entertainment. I feel sorry for the guy, he’s just doing his job, but they should mellow down a little bit instead of screaming at you.

What that doesn't include is that he is talking about at game that is sold out, but concerned the stands will be empty when the games starts b/c fans arrive late as they are partying in the Grove. Now his point about not letting it affect you stands, but he also said not to let it affect you after lamenting that fans are arriving late/leaving early.

More context and a link to an article detailing it even more:

Vaught-Hemingway Stadium is sold out and the school is encouraging the 60,000-plus fans to wear coordinated colors to “Stripe the Vaught” in red or navy, depending on their section.
This is peak SEC football.
Yet Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin isn’t without fan concerns, even though he has vowed to stop caring and just prepare his team.
It’s not that Oxford won’t be overrun with people. It’s that Kiffin doesn’t know when they’ll arrive inside the actual stadium, let alone how long they’ll stay.

They are not having attendance issues, the quote is misleading or at least it being used in this context (to be fair to the OP, they were probably mislead as well)
The Lane Train said it isn't an attendance problem 1Q, it's a staying through to 4Q.

Tell me ya'll can't feel Lane's flow pulling up to Hecht.

Saturday's official attendance for the Dook game was 57,421 per the boxscore on the UM Athletics site.

Would guess that this figure — like most if not all other schools — is the "tickets distributed" count.

For those at JRS, what was the peak crowd as far as butts in the seats?

From TV, it looked like there might've been about 30k late in the first quarter/early in the second?

No way there was 30k at the game. If there was 20k I would be surprised.

approx 30k is accurate. i refuse to further my masochism & look at my DVR but the shaded areas had a decent crowd. what you see on tv is the student section (completely empty) & area where the sun is hitting you directly (i saw a lot of ppl move to other shaded areas.

re paid attendance vs actual buts in the seat, stubhub is litered weekly with thousands of tickets to UM home games that go unused. i guess ppl buy season tix to go to just 1 or 2 games & try to sell the rest
