Attendance Numbers

Maybe 20 yrs ago, until we start winning on a consistent basis, I SAY a big **** NO. REALITY.
not even 20 years ago. we didn't even sell out consistently 20 years ago. there are about 35-40k realistic diehard fans for the team in the area that attend. the rest are either going once in a while or with their friends as an outing. they all come out for big games though.

I wish wed do a take your kids for free day this weekend tbh. instead of taking them To Disney for the long weekend, bring them to the canes game for free and provide a free pre game tailgate.

I remember going to the games in 2016 and being surprised by the crowds we were drawing given recent history. It was a buildup to the 2017 year when the place was one of the best home field advantages in CFB . and not just for the sold out/near sold out games like VT, Notre Dame and UVA, but even games like GT in the pouring rain, the place was rocking.

Give the fans a good competent product and people are going to show. I think people will be surprised by the non-FSU conference game attendance this year.

it was rocking against GT but it was also 2/3s full like always lol

We don't get weekly sellouts, even when we are by far the best team in the country. You will see people show up for the bigger games(FSU/Pitt) and not give a **** about the also ran opponents. It doesn't matter who is coaching.

While true, actual butts in seats has been down.

People love to say there's so much to do in S FL, but there always was. Quality of the team is the biggest factor, but the home sofa has hit college football across the land as attendance has been on decline.

This year I think we'll see actual attendance higher as people are excited about all the positive changes. As we get better, those numbers will increase. Sellouts all the time though, no.

They really should give out free tickets to schools along with free parking. All you have to show is a student ID or something the school prints off. Include the entire family. You aren't hurting anything and if they buy whatever, it's money you wouldn't make otherwise. Just alternate the schools so people can't count on it as free admission for families for all games.

I guess the closest thing I have close to me is a Fresh Market. I wish I could find a good neighborhood butcher tho.
When I was a kid I lived in a small farm town (population 4000) and one of my classmates (3rd grade) had an uncle who was a butcher. A real butcher.
Shop was on Main Street. Back room had 2 stalls ... one for a live hog and another for a cow. Slit drains in the floor for blood. Single Shot .22 rifle on the wall.
Block and tackle over each slit drain. THAT was a butcher shop. That was back in 1956.

pitt wont be packed. FSU obviously will be even when we suck. people will eventually learn that the city will never show up regularly. its a big event town and will always be.
Why won't Pitt be packed? Because of Thanksgiving? Could be a huge game depending on W/L records for the Coastal. Regardless ... quality opponent. Looking forward to the game. I'm expecting over 50,000 for every home game this season. Lot of enthusiasm for the program.

I haven’t checked where they are selling tickets but I wish Rado could tarp those upper corners that sometimes have 4 total people in a whole section. That takes the total seating down to 52k I believe.

I am assuming we will have 45k for Saturday. If it was a night game I think they’d get close to selling out. Genuinely worried about Game 2 being at noon, that’s a nightmare always for UM from an attendance standpoint

****, I was hoping you were.
I did a Google search for "miami butcher shop" and a bunch showed up all over.

Same for "ft lauderdale butcher shop". Same if you change city to West Palm.

Even easier is "butcher shop near me"

You never know what you'll learn on this site.

I came to learn the words "disabuse" and "screed" on these hallowed pages ;-)

Miami has NEVER consistently sold out home games. Even when they were the best team in the country. There were a couple of seasons in the Orange Bowl where they averaged over 60,000 but that was also in a 73,000 seat stadium and the numbers for big games would get inflated because they’d add extra seating in the open end zone. Even back in 2001, there’d be 37,000 people in the crowd for a Temple or Rutgers snoozer.

Have you been to the stadium or even watched a game on TV in the last 6 years? The upper corners don’t have seats anymore. They put video monitors there.

Offense puts azzes in the seats but defense wins games. So, on paper we should be in good hands.

Acoustics in HRS are terrible for clarity of sound. I went to Red Hot Chili Peppers last night and I won’t get relief from the ringing in my ears for days. It is a loud place and sound does not escape well. Place was packed (2/3rds because of the stage - every available seat was filled).

Fact of the matter is that this town follows a popularity contest and thus loves winners. If the team isn’t winning then it isn’t popular. If it is not popular, then people don’t go. This was the Heat. It was the Panthers (still is to come degree). It is the Marlins. And has been the Phins (hopefully things turnaround this year and ticket sales have gone through the roof with the recent spending). There are too many other things to do than to go to a .500 team and those others can’t get credibility by snapping a selfie at a game if the team isn’t popular or the fact of being there isn’t seen as important.

The Field of Dreams line totally applies here. “If you build it they will come”. We win, this is all moot. And they will come most weekends, not just the huge games. The reality is that selling the top of the corners of HRS is only relevant when the rest of the stadium is full. Adding those additional 5,000-10,000 fans will make a very loud stadium deafening, but not having those seats filled will still make home field advantage a true advantage.
