At least Bubba had a good game

THIS is where we are ? "AT LEAST BUBBA HAD A GOOD GAME" .....

Whatever happened to the Miami Hurricanes that made Lou Holtz **** his pants 10 times a day and unable to talk plain the rest of his life ?
Whatever happened to the Miami Hurricanes that laughed at, made fun of and kicked the sh*t out of Big Eight Powerhouses Nebraska and Oklahoma just for fun ?
Whatever happened to the Miami Hurricanes that made Bobby Bowden drool and see missed FGs in his sleep ?
Whatever happened to the Miami Hurricanes that dominated and scared the sh*t out of the entire college football world for years ?

Get me a beer.........

I mean seriously, where have you been the past 15 years?

But our kick coverage team needs to learn how to cover an onside kick. Almost the entire team ran PAST the ball while it was still hanging up in the air instead of staying in front of it. So when the VA player caught it, we were already behind him giving him a free run.

but the ball needs to go 10 before team can recover it. they didn't show the distance much, but it looked like 5 yards 1 UM player tried to get it... while the rest were going the 10, UVA guy picked it up and ran.

edit: watched a replay... kick went 5 yards, coverage went the required 10, no UM player touched the ball.

Shame we didn’t give him a shot from UVA’s 20 down 10-6 and instead opted on fullback dive into a pile of 19

Dumbass

The call wasn't as bad as the execution on that one though. With the 15 yard penalty if they recovered the ball without being allowed to return it the field position wouldn't have been that bad. Given our kick coverage on regular kickoffs isn't that great, the field position difference might have only been 20-25 yards. But our kick coverage team ALL overran the ball on the onside kick instead of keeping it in front of them.

No, the concept wasn't horrific given we had a + 15 yard advantage on the kickoff already. But, if you are going to try plays like that you need to be exhibiting much more sound fundamentals on special teams. Given the gravity of the situation, just kick it out of the **** endzone and try to flip the field position and wind-up likely in the same spot as you would have recovered it.

Absolutely. The fundamentals by the kickoff team were terrible. Given the importance of that play, one would hope the team would know how to cover a kick.

Yes, it only went 5 yards before the other team ran up and grabbed it. You don't run everyone past the ball, and past the potential returner, you keep people in front of it....or exactly what happened happens. Dumbass.

just curious... if the coach tells a WR to run a 10 yard out, and the QB throws a 5 yard out. Who was wrong the QB or WR?
