You're right. Once the Bills are done
I don't think they would announce Richt until after Sunday

New asisstants:
Kool
Thomas Brown
Hartley
and Young Richt
I'm still not sure where this Raymond buzz is coming from other than our fans' hopes.

I know ONE person connected to both LSU and UM. I never pretend to have inside info, because most often I don't know anything more than anyone else. Unless you're willing to share it all the time, (i.e., you have a first hand contact with someone) you usually just come off looking like a poor man's Ferman. But the deal with Raymond is that the moment Richt was hired his side said he had interest. Could mean zilch comes of it, he's angling for a raise or whatever, but there was the pretense of interest. Just took awhile for it to show up on boards.
No idea if he comes. (Ooooooo -- closes with the classic fake insider hedge!)

Richt's son may be the 4th.
This is probably the case
Bad move for Mark. Needs to slip his son in after he makes killing DC announcement bringing in old school Cane defense. Then he can mumble his son name while we are all going nuts. And the kid better not be visible -- let's hope he learned that from Bobby. Give the kid a high priced administrative job but DO NOT waste a coaching position on him.
It aint like the kid isn't qualified for the position of a college QB coach. He has been in the pros as a assistant for years. Golden has scarred us
While most of the UM assistants on the former staff are aware they’re not being retained, decisions were still pending on at least two: interim coach/tight ends coach Larry Scott (a possibility to stay, but nothing decided as of Tuesday) and receivers coach Kevin Beard (scheduled to interview with Mark Richt)….
At least four new assistant coaches will be announced imminently, a group expected to include former Georgia assistants Todd Hartley and Thomas Brown and former Missouri defensive line coach Craig Kuligowski, who is especially well-regarded. The man Kuligowski replaces, Randy Melvin, is taking a job at Purdue.

Who is the fourth coach?

Isn't there also nepotism laws here in Florida? I don't believe it's his son

It's been pointed out that, 1, no, since Bobby had Jeff Bowden as his OC, and 2, Miami is a private school.

Ah forgot about the infamous Jeff bowden thanks.
Beard is a true Cane at heart ...he is doing everything he can do to remain on the staff...
I trust Richt in making the correct choice, and playing a style that enhances S. Florida athletic talent. 4-3 one gap cover two with corners up.Man these conversations are pretty awesome. Discussing competent coaching is nice for a change

I am hoping that Mark has not forgotten about Jeff and what it did to St Bobby at FSU. Jon Richt might be the greatest thing since sliced bread but it is dangerous for Mark to bring him here in a real coaching position. A month ago this fan based was lighting torches; I doubt there is much slack for Mark.
Kid has some "quality control" experience at UGA and some entry level stuff with Bills. We need every available coaching position, they are limited by NCAA, filled with real coaches. Looks like Mark has some real money for staff. It should be used for best coaches he can get. I don't have problem with Mark hiring his kid. Jon can work with Art on fundraising, or something that does not count against our limit.
Pelini is a head coach at Youngstown State. He is not taking any dc positions.
DC at a P5 school is better than HC at D2

I feel like everyone talking about Raymond coming here is making a complete guess of who the best DB hire could be, without knowing whether or not hes even in consideration for the position

re: Aranda:
According to USA Today's annual database of assistant coaching salaries in college football, Aranda's salary of $522,200 ranked him only 64th nationally among all assistants. He was 13th among Big Ten assistants and only sixth among defensive coordinators behind Michigan's D.J. Durkin ($880,000), Ohio State co-defensive coordinators Luke Fickell ($640,000) and Ash ($580,000), Minnesota's Tracy Claeys ($616,000) and Nebraska's Mark Banker ($550,000). Durkin, Ash and Claeys all earned head coaching jobs in the past month.
Without question, Wisconsin is on borrowed time with Aranda. Players can only hope to borrow a little more. (from ESPN)
