I wonder if hiring ex head coaches or award winning coaches is a good idea. Will they respect the head coach or maybe not listen to suggested changes? A boss needs assistants that will respect and follow his directions but when assistants might feel that the head guy is wrong it could exacerbate the organizations problems. There has been a plethora of discussions about player culture, maybe the high status of our assistants is an even worse culture. Do they respect Mario? Do they accept changes to their part of the program? We did not see many changes to game planning or any decent half time adjustments so was Mario handicapped with a reluctant staff? If not how do you explain no real changes at half time or during the season? I say flush them all and find up and coming ambitious young assistants that are not set in their ways and want a future not look back at what they've done in the past like what we have now.
