Arguably their most prominent and wealthy alumni -- John Morgan -- is a world class Gator hater. I truly bet he would drop a nice big bag for our NIL collective just to **** them off.

He has no real particular reason to despise them, mind you. He's just a world class hater. Probably why he's built the the most successful law firm in history.

His $ at this point is unbelievable. He owns so many airports advertising - Vegas it was jarring to see how many ads he had at the airport lol

Yup. This is why we need to bury the state schools as badly and as often as possible, and always root for their total demise. Our fans are incredibly good at brushing off other programs. Fact is, FSU and UF will always resonate with kids and families, no matter how bleak it looks. As you mentioned/reminded me in the Wright thread, one splash hire and a few games of life can reignite perception VERY quickly.
 
Not having them on the schedule makes it much harder to bury them. ****** Spurrier was on the same type of timing as Cignetti is now

Blostein put in those crystal balls so early they felt destined to fail. We still seem to be in a pretty solid spot for Flowers, however, his three teammates are approaching long-shot status (Asher, Xander, and the TE from GA).

I wouldn’t put it like that re Xander (kid could end up doing well but i don’t believe he’s Derrick Henry 2.0) however i agree about Asher being the only needle mover outta the 3.

Still, (I’ve rationalized) that even he is not irreplaceable if he is going to be an EDGE given how we’re recruiting. DTs are the position group we need to hit a home-run on in that cycle.

Agree.
With a RB we can certainly find something that's comparable or better then him.

DTs can make edge players look better and vice versa. I think investment has to be made there since Scott isn't getting younger and we don't have a big bull backing him up.
