Surprisingly, they are ranked 22 and still have 4 four stars committed. However, their top commit is rumored to be switching to Ole Miss.
No respect given to Tally, but if Norvell holds a class better than top 30 it will be remarkable (or dumb luck I suppose).

They are in a deep spiral.

22 is no bueno. Even when we had a headlock on FSU in recrutiing in the early 2000's they were still pulling in top 10 classes.

While the season may be shut down at the dookie, this won't be the last one to bail. They'll be down to 55 scholarships or there abouts next year after the exodus, even with a full 25 class. They'll be begging for walk ons. I'm loving this. Crush them.

Not even close. If FSU fires Norvell, they'll owe 2 coaches huge buyouts. Say what you want about our admin, but at least we don't get suckered into these ridiculous buyouts.
The buyout is based off of the salary, the length of the contract, and how long is left on the contract. The reason our buyouts were not astronomical is because Richt walked away on his own, we waited two years too long to fire Golden, and we don’t pay $5m plus a year. Obviously it is better to choose the right coach and not have to worry about a buyout, but our buyout for Golden being on the low end is an indictment against our administration wanting to win, not a trophy for it.

Even if we would've fired Golden 2 years earlier His buyout would've still been cheap. Did you see the details of His contract, that fat ******* wasn't even making $1M per.

5th round pick
I think if he runs a 4.5 or better at the combine he could be a 2nd-3rd round pick. Hes only FSU player I wish we had. And we could have had him if the staff didnt wait on Surtain and Campbell to burn us.

If he times slow then yes, he will fall big time.

He was making $2-3m/yr all in after bonuses and other comp. The reason why it was so cheap is because his salary was that amount and because we did not want to play ball and pay a coach $5m/yr. If you hire and pay a top level coach and he does not work out, your buyout is going to be significantly more. Our administration having a low buyout was because they were cheap, not savvy.

Yeah, their season is over. They won't play another game until 2021, and even then their &hit is a mess.

And their fans are in turmoil fighting themselves - some blame Taggart, others blame Norvell, some blame the kids and today's culture, others blame their AD...

&hit is bleak in Tallahassee, and I am loving every single minute of this.

I would like it to persist.

The buyouts is why they can’t get out of their current position. FSU has/had more money than us but that is now gone, and hence why they are going through what we did. They have no choice now. They either hit it out the park with some up and comer or they are screwed for the time being.

Our best candidate in the last 10 years (Dan Mullen) would've come here twice for less than $5M per.
Maybe so, maybe not. The best way to not pay a buyout is to hire the right person. Unfortunately, as Texas, Michigan, Miami, FSU, maybe Penn St, UCLA, Florida before Mullen, Tennessee, South Carolina, etc. can attest to, that is easier said than done.
