I think he will be a monster hire.

Seems like a good man who will do all he can to help us win.

Im not worried about his recruiting ability either. He's a high school coaching legend and im sure recruits respect him. Hes had many players on his teams get recruited so he knows the business. Our newest D line commit in class of 20 is from georgia and when he got called by simpson he commited.

I predict he will be like thomas brown for our defense. Quietly a good coach and a monster recruiter.

I believe Moise is originally from Florida; he only went to HS in GA for a year.

I get tired of people saying he coached at Georgia State in 2016. He never coached a game for GSU. He got hired then Quinn snatched him up. Oh well I am still satisfied with the hire.

Snatched up being the operative word. Quinn knew him from when he was a coach at Florida. Richt knew him from coaching at UGA. Recruiting is the only question mark. He might not be able to sell much of a college resume, but that many state titles as a head coach and coaching in the NFL should make up for it for now.

I'm loving this hire. We need a coach with something to prove! I have a feeling this guy will be a monster in the recruiting trail. canes fans think about this: coach Simpson went to 10 straight state championships wining 7. this means kids listen to him and he was able to lead 17 and 18 years. exactly the kids we are recruiting so he connects with high school kids. Im really looking forward to what Coach Simpson will be able to accomplish at the U! its all about the U, baby!

Is that correct? Everything I read makes is sound like 2016 season GA State and 2017 Falcons. I am just curious as to what is correct.

you didn't think this was already posted? look under the thread about 5 down by original...

and I doubt the guy mad a call to moise and and moise committed b/c the guy just got the job. I'm sure his commitment had been in the works and had little to do with the hire.

simpson to Miami officially announced...

it's 5 threads down. maybe, just maybe it was the same article.

The fact that he didn't coach a down at Georgia State makes it that much more impressive. To go from coaching high school, for all intents and purposes, directly to coaching in the NFL shows how highly thought of he is.

I, for one, am excited to see what Coach Simpson will do down here.

GO CANES!!!

Most of our staff this is the first time they’ve held their current position . They’ve all got something to prove.

Wait, saban loses coach too nfl and we take one from nfl? Should old nick be doing the upscale shopping?

Yes this is correct. He actually was still the coach at Buford in 2016. Georgia State hired him right after the season(2016) after he lost to Rome High school in the 2016 AAAAA state championship. I live in Cartersville which beat his team in the 2015 AAAA state championship game. Yes this is the same team Trevor Lawrence played for lol. Buford was always a rival for us in all sports, this is how I remember all of this. So he technically was a coach at GSU in 2016. I think Simspon was under a lot of pressure for losing back to back state championship games 2 years in a row. I know it sounds crazy but Buford is probably one of the hardest high school head coaching jobs in the USA. Buford was already a state powerhouse before he became head coach. He was the head coach for 7 state titles and the school has 11 state titles in all. I know they won from 2001-2003 as well and that was before he became coach. He was on the staff already though. As crazy as it sounds I think he was under pressure. Buford High loves their sports. They recruit for all sports. This past football season was his first season not being at Buford.

Pretty sure most of our staff have held their current position before. Plus, Lil Richt, Rumph and Banda are going on their 3rd year here so not sure how long you can act like they are so inexperienced.

You don’t win that level for that long unless you’re already recruiting plenty.

Everyone from St Thomas to AH to Columbus do it to win at that kind of rate. Even here in Dade Booker T,, Northwestern and Southridge have done it throughout the years.

But none of them have been able to duplicate the kind of success that dude’s had.

He’s been selling a program for a long time, not worried about him doing that here.
