Ran across this article and being a long time Canes fan enjoyed reminiscing. I remember back into the 50's but the 80's is the era I am most fond of, attended almost all the 58 win streak games. Alabama had the record but since they played Auburn on a neutral field their losses to Auburn were skipped, thrilled when we knocked them off a record that will never be matched.

Long time fan as well. Since the '60s. Appreciate you posting this. Brings back great memories!

Bama’s Win streak was bogus for another reason. They played most of thier big games in Birmingham while streak was for Tuscaloosa games only. Ours was pure for all home games and included tons of wins against top teams including many number ones. I’m not a Bama hater but their record is crap compared to ours.

Wow, didn't know Cuba had a football team, good to know:

The season included two wins over the University of Havana, with a Thanksgiving Day game in Miami and a Christmas Day meeting in Cuba. The first varsity competition.

Probably be even more shocked to find out Mexican universities play football. Our freshman teams (early '60's when freshmen were not eligible for varsity) regularly played Mexico Poly.

Not much a/c in 50’s so that was bad down here, but very little traffic. 80’s were fantastic and so were the 70’s. My opinion is slanted because I was making tons and living large so I enjoyed those Cane years(80’s) to the fullest. Money and youth will do a lot for your viewpoint. I’m noticing money isn’t not as much fun in old age.

I forgot about the cocaine 80's in Florida. I guess that would have been fun.

Miss the '50's in Miami. Got used to the heat. Started to get AC in late '50's, early '60's.
