2027 Aroson "AJ" Randle Jr 4* LB from Garner, NC (Garner HS)

Maybe they are and I’m not seeing it, however it is strange to see Texas Tech, Michigan State (two schools his brother played at; mom ran track ant MSU before transferring to Clemson) and Clemson all not pursuing him. Especially Clemson.

Miami continues to build momentum with multiple targets this spring, but one of the biggest developments centers around elite linebacker AJ Randle. The Garner (N.C.) standout has seen his recruitment take off, and after a strong visit to Coral Gables earlier this week, the Hurricanes have surged up his list.

Florida had some buzz around it, but Miami has made a significant move coming out of recent visits. Randle is still working through his process and taking visits, but there is real buzz around Mario Cristobal’s program surging to the top for four-star linebacker

Sources indicate this recruitment has tightened considerably coming out of the spring, with a defined top tier emerging. It would not be a surprise to see this come down to a battle between Sunshine State programs — Miami and Florida. Both have generated consistent buzz at the top, with both programs making strong pushes through spring visits and communication.

A program that came from the outside to one of the favorites is the local program, NC State. It has made one of the more notable moves in this cycle, leveraging in-state ties and strong staff relationships to secure an official visit and remain firmly in contention.

Ohio State has also positioned itself firmly in that upper group after re-establishing momentum with Randle during the spring evaluation period. Intel suggests that Randle liked the fit in the Buckeyes’ defense as much as he did any system.

Georgia and South Carolina

round out the group, each maintaining steady positioning and remaining within striking distance heading into June. They have the most ground to make up during official visits.

Randle’s recruitment is heating up heading into the summer

Randle plans to take all six official visits before deciding, and he is targeting June 30 for his commitment. Scheme fit, development track record, relationships with position coaches and overall program culture will drive his final call.

With visits set and the field narrowed, this recruitment is now fully in the closing stretch, and official visits will ultimately determine which program separates in one of the more tightly contested linebacker battles in the 2026 cycle.

After a very busy spring, we like Miami’s position at the top with a slight lead over Florida. Both programs have built trust with the family, been consistent with their recruitment, and laid out great plans for Randle.
