Army Navy Game

Best game of the year. @Empirical Cane

My dad was a cadet in the 1950s at a military school in NY. Part of the color guard. Went to the game once. He passed just before Thanksgiving. GO ARMY!!!!!

My pops was career Air Force, but we went to the Army Navy game a couple of times cause we lived in the DC area. Great event and the march on is one of a kind.

I have watched this game when I can since I was young and that was long ago. I probably always will. A rivalry game I have always had interest in attending. It drew way more interest 40 or 50 years ago. I believe it was watched for national patriotism after WW2. It probably peaked in the 60's or 70's.

If you live in the area, it's still one of the biggest games of the year. I live not too far from Annapolis and it feels like this game takes over this week.

Yeap, I just moved from Annapolis. Lived not too far from Academy for 25 plus years. I miss the area.
Especially the Blue Angel performances during Naval Academy Commission (graduation) week. The only part of Maryland I would return to live in.
The Naval Academy itself is a cool place. Loaded with history but, to be honest, I find West Point prettier and their museum is a wonderful experience, especially for those who love military history.
All this to say Go Navy!!

West Point is phenomenal place, haven't been to the Naval Academy

Great story

General MacArthur lived in NYC his last few years. When he was awarded the Thayer Award at West Point his driver asked him where he was going. The general said to West Point. The driver, not knowing who the general was, said “Nice place, have you been there before?”

MacArthur graduated number one in his class
