Are we on this level right now? I'mma say nah.

We’ve have the same weight room for nearly 20 years.

We just added a team nutritionist during the CMR regime. Let that sink in. Other schools had that in 05

It is cute, but we ran football with the worst facilities in the NCAA.
College football has become minor league for the pros since then with massive money state schools running the NCAA and recruiting. UM has been their worst own enemy over the years trying to keep up on the cheap. Now even spending money they are massively behind the 8 ball.

I saw zero difference between us and them or the Turds physically when we played them.

**** LSU and the SEC.

I know they are expensive, but you should get a new pair of glasses. It is very bad for your eyes to use such a weak pescription when you are legally blind. This store is very reasonable. Hopefully you find a pair that fits your budget.

Under Felder last year, we got pushed around by LSU. Under Feeley, only our young freshman OTs were consistently pushed around (and Zuniga is a Senior). I didn't see S&C as the reason we lost the UF game. Muffing a punt around the 10 yard line, missing FGs and dropping critical balls were the primary reasons.

I think Feeley is doing a solid job. Miller's transformation was incredible. Feeley seems like a great motivator & communicator. I think he was one of Manny's better hires. The only question I have is whether Feeley knows how to create elite athletes and not just very good athletes.

Even the programs running football in 2019 have some of the best facilities and it IS important. It’s not 2001 anymore or the 80s
Guys never got strong before they could measure their **** girth with Bluetooth rulers!!!

It's not "the rest of the nation", it's a few schools with unlimited money.
Vehemently disagree with this notion that it’s just the top schools with unlimited money.. Everyone is spending money on facilities now, Illinois just opened a 85 million dollar new facility , it’s better than what Miami has.

Nebraska has a 155 million dollar facility in the works

my overarching point is this, Miami has to get out of the mentality of just doing the bare minimum and then thinking the job is done, no you have plenty of things left to improve yeah you have a nice indoor practice facility/ new coaching rooms, some enhancement to weight rooms, but you also have a lockerroom that looks worst than a few highschool teams and majority of power5/group of 5 teams. The training table which needs to be upgraded and training and recovery room in general , lockerroom and player lounge as well and THEN Miami would be on par with elite teams in terms of facilities. Right now we are getting there but still a ways to go

Maybe you should heed your own advice. Twenty two responses to my post, all 22 agree. Only one comment that doesn't, from the professional contrarian who thinks he's the one guy who reallly knows football.

It's just marketing. It does speak to the larger issue of money. We can't compete on the money scale. Look at what Georgia is doing regarding facilities. It took us years to get ~$30M for an indoor practice facility. They raise that on one email to boosters.

I've been giving some thought to the impact of the new legislation with regard to paying players, and think that is likely our best chance at getting back to a more even playing field. Being able to leverage the broader fan base and market to support athletes directly is our only hope. It's likely that we still won't be able to compete with the Alabamas and Georgias of the world due to the extreme size of their dedicated alumni, but it's probably our only shot. We need to be closer to a true professional sport and all that entails.

That’s so marginal it’s a joke.

On max effort non-Olympic lifts it doesn’t matter and on speed days the bar is flying (assuming you are progaming conjugate).

Our bigger problem has been in competence in tota program design.
There is a fascinatingly documentary out there that I saw this year that goes into the current, cutting edge weight training techniques and how it is ultimately contributing to injuries to rookies joining the NBA. There were some inyeresting stats on how much time rookies miss now versus 15 years ago, and the documentary maker is tying it to today’s weight training.
