We have TC that looked like his puppy died on NSD. Stevenson that basically gave UGA his bank account after we **** the bed over and over again. Another UGA DB that went on twitter to say if everyone stayed home we would be unstoppable.
I’m sure coley understands how deep and how much it means to these kids to be from here and that this brand still has juice down here despite all the sht the program has been through.
Both Harris and Williams went out of their way to say how loyal and how Miami and even how UM they are. And I feel that is a very good sign that things are changing.
It’s not a **** accident.
Has that ever happened before. I don’t recall any mf’ing turncoat bag chaser ever say he will always be Miami and bleeds orange and green. Wtf??!!
That’s some Eddie Murphy type sht right there.
Get caught cheating balls deep then looking at your wife like “but I love you”.
Why would they do that?
Why would a recruits dad be so vocal and give such a long interview on a canes website? Very very odd and honestly seems scripted. When’s the last time a parent went so far out if there way to say how much of a fan he is and that we’re still Top of the list etc etc.. and all the things that need to happen for his kid to pick UM? Bizarre AF.
We talk about how these kids have never seen a winning um team. That’s true.
But that doesn’t explain cubs and Mets fans.
It doesn’t explain raider fans.
We are still the home team. We still have a lot loyal fans left who’s kids play ball in Sofla.
Winning will strengthen that bond.
We won 7 games last year and we have a local 5 stars dad giving an interview that’s full Facts yes, but also excuses.
It’s almost as if the local kids are hoping we win just as much as we are.
A lot of pressure is n this staff and a lot of fear from opposing coaches.

How many of those fans - if given the choice - would pick the home team if another team gave them a better chance of winning and/or cashing in (whether that be getting them to the NFL or getting paid to go to that school). There are some kids out there that will pick Miami no matter what, but most of the kids will probably do what they believe is right when picking a school.

Put another way, there are a lot of non athletes high school kids that would love to go to Miami; let's say someone lives in Virginia who's parents raised them as die hard Miami fans and they do ok financially, but not great. This student has the option of going to UVA (#25 rated university) for ~$18K /yr (room and board included) or going to Miami (#53 rated university) for ~$66K /yr (including room and board) - would you blame them for picking UVA in that situation?

The number one rule in recruiting is "Win the Mom." That sentiment continues to this day. It is very surprising to hear we have not shown the Harris family any love.

Plenty of Miami fans go to UF and FSU cause of cost. Not a secret and we have the videos.
My son plays soccer and is 7 years old. Lil man cries when he loses. So I can only deduce that 17 year old hyper competitive teen in the brink of A life changing decision would be swayed by wins and yes money.
The theory is that every school pays and some pay more. So let’s say in both scenarios the kid can go the school he’s a fan of. Not get as much money but still win and get exposure. and do it with friends he’s played with and against his whole life while his mother friends and families can watch from the stands.
Let’s add the people in this dudes pocket that steer kids to schools that get all kind of media hype and espn love.
We win and Now UM also becomes another team that’s on sports center and getting prime time night games. You get the announcers talking about your talent to millions of people instead of the Sunday 1 o’clock game on espn 3.
There will still be some dudes that are mercenaries and will go to the highest bidder. But a lot more will want to play here.

Not when he de-commited but he did tweet several times about loyalty when a another kid would bounce.

Loyalty though is remaining committed through thick and thin. It is being a leader in the class, not a follower to another program because they win. It is knowing your talent can bring your team up, especially when your family sees the talent level is not where it needs to be. Saying the program needs more talent and decommitting to go to a different school is counter productive.

The kid is either a leader and wants to bring the school he "loves" back to glory, or he will follow those that profess their love but chase wins and bags over their cites pride and teams loyalty.

Howard convinced a few kids to stay, and built off what Lou left. A magic season was made. Jimmy built a culture around Miami Vice. There is absolutely no reason it cannot happen again, but it takes loyalty from the city for it to happen. Do these kids and their families true love the U and Miami? If so, then we should not have to make dad feel special. We should recruit the kid and discuss plans for him. We have too many kids that need to "feel the love" for parent to start wanting that now.

You will know things are changing when local studs commit, stay committed, and actively recruit for their school. Sad that many of our recent ambassadors have been out of state or out of area kids. But hey, for these Dade kids, Miami is their dream school, you know, until a bags or two is dropped, then it's a "business decision".

Oh, and when the South florida studs start coming back to Miami, you will see the 1st round draft picks come back. Until then, the sell outs will do it for Bama, UGA and Clemson. But, it will be Miami's fault that they sold out.

Facts.

I'm over the bag excuse.

I heard a very connected dude last night compare the bag game to speeding. He said that everyone in CFB goes 75-80 mph in the 70 mph speed limit. The teams who go 100 mph (Ole Miss) are the ones who catches the NCAA's attention.

He said that Georgia and it's fan base expected CMR to be on Saban's level on Saturday, but UGA didn't provide the resources needed Sun-Fri to be on a Bama level. They weren't as invested. He mentioned that before Kirby took the job he told UGA that they had to have more focus on the football program if they want to compete. Look at Georgia now. Staff full of people who know how to recruit. Look at Florida. Spending millions on baseball and softball when they should have prioritized their cash cow. Auburn is in a similar boat.

Miami needs to win and become the "cool" school that these kids want to go to. The same way Jimbo had FSU around their championship year.

@pacusmc I would substitute Kobe Bryant for Eddie Murphy. So much more blatant, and sports-related. I have that image of Kobe's wife flaunting the ring for the cameras in my head right now. smdh

Or perhaps it's like insider trading, but you have a connection to the SEC (no pun intended, well, maybe) so you know you will not be investigated. Satan commits violations at L$U under Emmert. Emmert is well aware, but it advances his career. Shart learns from Satan, and knows where the bodies are buried, so he takes the family business to Athens. The ****roach takes it to Eugene. All protected through the NCAA until a regime change because the corruption goes to the top. So, speed all you want, the cops won't show up to court, and the judge will blindly throw out any case that make it to him.

How else do you explain the cars, cash, clothes, jobs... and no investigations. That is not 75-80 in a 70 zone. That is the autobahn.

UGA, Clemson, OSU, Texas, Oklahoma, Michigan, Auburn etc. all recruit at a high level.
