He did exactly what he should have done with his schedule finishing 4th in the nation in total defense. However.... His schedule was weak.

He went against 4 teams ranked 100 or worse in total offense

5 teams ranked 95 or worse

No teams ranked higher than 34 in total offense.

Only two teams ranked in the top 50 in total offense.

He also doesn't have the players one would think based on recruiting rankings. Based on the 247 Current Team Composite, the current Wisconsin team has 0 five stars 1 four star and only 17 three stars. So you could say with an upgraded schedule and upgraded talent he may do better.

Just throwing that out there since his numbers are sick and I like his philosophy, but there is a red flag on just how good he may be.

Oh and he also got blown out 54-0 against OSU last year

Just curious, would you have applied the same red flag to Narduzzi? Because the elephant in the room, holding hands with the 3-4 boogeyman, is that B10 offenses lend themselves to being neutralized.

Every coach has an off game, that's just human nature. That Ohio State team was an absolute juggernaut by the end of the season, but to prove my point that same team lost to Virginia tech first game of the season so it happens to even the best. If you look at how he adjusted to Auburn you can see a lot of those issues were corrected.

Or the people who wanted chizik? Smh just gave up 650 rushing yards to baylor?

I understand the concern about Aranda but unless other names that are better are thrown around, there's no reason to down play his ability as a coach. I don't see anyone saying "Aranda is not great but____ is"

Mich state went against number 4 offense, number 14, and 3 others in the top 50.

Aranda is good. I think everyone can admit he can coach a defense. Just wondering how good he can be against some better offenses. My guess is good, but wanted to throw it out there since I was digging little.

I think hes a great mind

My gripe is after the Big 12 the ACC/Pac 12 play more "open" offenses. Thats where I am on him.

I watched a LB get 3 sacks on 3 consecutive plays last night. Pretty impressive stuff. That is 2 more sacks that Thomas had all season.

Did I miss something? It seems to have become a forgone conclusion at this point that he is our next DC. Did he interview or something?
